We have owned, bred and shown Gordon Setters for 30 years. We breed for temperament, type and soundness and as we only occasionally breed, we were delighted to be awarded 'Top Gordon Setter Breeder' in 1998 and 2000.

We both award Challenge Certificates at Championship Show level and have been invited to judge a variety of gundog breeds and the gundog group at Open show level. We have been honoured to breed and own many Gordon Setter Show Champions throughout the years and have received a variety of awards for puppies that we have either bred or owned: Top Puppy, Top Dog, Top Brood .... Amscot Kennels is one of only a handful of true dual purpose kennels in the UK, meaning the Gordons are capable of working on a grouse moor or on partridge / pheasant at the highest level, being shown at Championship level in a show ring and making excellent pets. Many owners have come back to replace their beloved Gordon when it passes on. That is the highest recommendation I could have.

I bought my first Gordon in 1983 and now have my 8th generation direct line descendants to that original Gordon.

I have bred, owned and campaigned the only Dual Champion Setter in UK history. .... (click to read more)

I became a proud owner of a English Setter in 1998, called Barley. I discovered Gordon Setters in 2001 when I was lucky enough to own Hugo as a Puppy. Since then I have bred 5 generations of Gordon Setters which are loved dearly. Whilst I occasionally show my Gordon Setters and have had many good results in the show ring, all my dogs are first and formally family pets.

As an accedited breader I am pleased to say that all of my Gordon Setters have excellent temperments with all the current up to date health tests which include :CLEAR DNA PRA eye tests, DNA colour tests and low Hip .... (click to read more)

The first Boyers gordon was purchased in 1972 with the aim of producing sound dual purpose gordon setters, ie dogs that look good and can work as well, and also have good, biddable temperments. It has been successful in this aim and has produced Champions, Sh Champions and field trial award winners consistantly over this period. I never breed a litter unless I intend to keep a puppy as my dogs are kept as pets with showing and trialling as a hobby. All my dogs are put through the BVA/KC hip scoring scheme and Scree, Sedge and Scarla ( Scarlatti) have been tested as being DNA"Clear" of the PRA .... (click to read more)
