I had a rescue retriever many years ago - who was my best friend and came to work with me. My family knew a brilliant birthday present for me would be a puppy. We went to the Shinehill Kennels and fell in love with their puppies. Saffi joined our family and the rest is history!! When Saffi had a litter we kept Ester.

We live on the edge of a village on the Herefordshire/Gloucestershire borders and have 3 goldens in our lives. Mabel was my first but was not interested in showing, much preferring countryside life. Maisie was a diva from the beginning. Such a character. Loved showing and has exceeded all my exceptations. At crufts 2013 she won both the yearling and under graduate classes and took the RCC. This gained her a stud book number and qualified her for crufts for life. She is loved by everyone and is an absolute joy to live with. Grace is Maisie's daughter from her litter to Oscar. We walk daily .... (click to read more)

It was my oldest daughter who bought a retriever and from then on we were bitten with the Golden Retriever bug... We owned a Cocker who was in his twilight years and we promised ourselves that we would own a Goldie when the sad day arrived, it was a long wait as `Batty` lived to the grand age of 17!!

Then after a good search , Sophie came along and she has lived up to the wonderful reputation that the breed carries.

We then decided to breed but we wanted to have our own dog to use and .... (click to read more)
