    We are a small kennel that breeds the occasional litter.

    We are a real dual purpose kennel with both show bred and working bred Goldens and we also have working bred labradors and a cocker who help out in the shooting season.

    All our dogs live as family and have lovely temperaments.

    We support the schemes for Hip Scoring, Elbow Scoring and Eye testing and details are available on request. We also have DNA tested all of our breeding stock.

    We are a family who truly love Golden Retrievers - we do not breed any other dogs. I remember standing at head height with my Grandmother's retriever who was the South East of England Gundog Champion in 1960! I have his photo (see our gallery) with rosette and we have aimed to breed our own retrievers in his image. Our dogs are strong characters, highly intelligent and totally loving. We are proud to have low hip scores for all our dogs and that their eyes are tested clear.

    We are a small West Country kennel, Established in the early seventies, occasionally producing puppies with golden hearts and coats, to join the family home.
    All dogs are fully Health Tested - ( The normal tests for Hips, Elbows and Eyes - as well as PRA ). Puppies are very well socialised and vet checked as well as being both Tatooed and Microchipped.
    Our dogs are both shown and worked to the gun - and all the youngsters go to 'school' and learn basic obedience - before they are six months old.

    In 2008, I rescued Ru (Ruperts Gold Boy), a working Golden Retriever. Ru was an unwanted gun dog. He had no life skills and his first year with us was hard, whilst he learnt about life. I quickly fell in love with the breed and their loving nature.

    I currently own 2 Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. I've kept dogs all my life and got my 1st Toller, Lily, 3 years ago and loved the breed so much that shortly after followed our second Toller, Sky.

    The newest member to our family is Lexi, a lovely Golden Retriever. Who is a great addition to our family.

    My devotion to the breed began 40 years ago, in 1974 when I bought my first Golden Retriever, Sam (" Stalyhills Figaro ") from Mrs Freda Broadbent of the Stalyhills kennel in Stalybridge. He was a handsome chap with an excellent pedigree, and although first and foremost my pet, we joined a ring craft training class and did a bit of showing in the North East of England. We did rather well, winning many first prizes and Best of Breeds. I was bitten by the showing bug!
