Hi, I am Sibylle and a passionated Golden Retriever Breeder. Since I am 11 years old a dog is on my side and my best friend. The following year I forstered "Pia", also for a handicapped young man in Salzburg-Austria. Both were a real addition to the lifes of their owners. I got my own first bitch "Tessa" in 1991. I and my family of Golden Retrievers along with 'Tamu' the Basenji live within two miles of Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain.

I have been owned by Goldens continuously since 1975 and before that owned a Beagle, adding a Basenji in 1978, who was my first real show dog. We live on the outskirts of Devizes, Wiltshire. All our dogs are very much part of our family.

  • Dirnanean Golden Retrievers
    Dr Clare Svennevik
    Current Health Tests

There have been Golden Retrievers in our family since the 1930s, and most are mid to dark gold in colour (as opposed to cream). Eyes are tested under the KC/BVA scheme, and hips are X-rayed and scored as soon as youngsters are old enough. Temperament is our most important consideration when choosing a stud dog, and we rarely have more than one litter every 18-24 months.
We always hope to keep in touch with puppy owners for as long as they wish to keep in touch with us, and are happy to provide advice and answer questions.

My first Golden Retriever puppy, Bradley (Kylara Royal Consort) came to live with us in 1996, the same year my daughter was born.
After the initial shock meeting (Jessica was born at home) Bradley never left her side! They were the very best of friends until we sadly had to say goodbye to Bradley at 13 1/2 years old.
It took 5 long years for us to open our hearts to another Golden and now we have two, hopefully three by the end of next year!
Life is just too short not to share it with a Golden! xx

We live in a lovely rural location on the Somerset/Dorset border. Remy is our third Retriever, and we love the breed. Remy is loving and gentle, very good natured and fun. She loves people and likes to play with other dogs we meet on our daily walks. Very much a family dog, she entertains us constantly with her goofy expressions and bonkers attitude - she loves to sqeeze behind the sofa, responding by a wag of her tail and having to reverse out. She is now 6 years old.
