We are based in the lovely village of Layer Marney on the outskirts of Colchester in Essex. We acquired our first German shepherd from the Akir Kennel in 1986 and our first Border Terrier in 1992.We applied for our afix of 'SHIRCAR' IN 1994.
Both Geoff and myself passionately love our dogs and we breed first for health, temperament and good looks. We bred our first litter of sheperds in 1993. We now have our own stud dog that we acquired from Anita Guy at the Marinita kennel called Kaiser, many thanks to Anita for breeding such a beautiful boy with a nature to match.

I had my first labrador when i was 10. I have owned them ever since. We have had the odd litter now and then. I have always wanted to have a go at showing and last year i did with my lovely little girl crystal she is doing o.K. Thanks to emma's help who bred crystalthe newforem kennel. I don't have time to show alot as we are on a sheep farm with just over 400 sheep so spare time is scarce. But the dogs have agreat time going over the fields and swimming in the 2 fish ponds we have, so aswell my dogs are not the cleanest of dogs but they are very happy. I lived on farms most of my childhood,
so animals were part of my growing up.
Although I have had a few German Shepherds, all sorts of colours for most of my life,
I found there is no difference apart from colour, they are all the same.
So when my husband and I decided to breed, we both loved the whites.
All our dogs are hip scored and they live indoors with us they
are our babies and don't they know it!

Hello, We have always been lovers of Shetland sheepdogs and after trying to find the right breed for us we picked our first Shetland sheepdog Alaska. She has been the light of our life and is a perfect lap dog although she has the usual hardy side to her. We currently have 4 dogs in total we are getting our 5th in a few months time.
