As lifelong dog owners and lovers, we discovered the wonderful Flat Coated Retriever breed when Bramble came to live with us in 2012.
We live in the beautiful Scottish Borders, with its fantastic forests and rivers on our doorstep - a lifestyle that any Flat Coated Retriever would be delighted to revel in.
Bramble is bred from a combination of UK and Scandinavian lines and she has turned into a fantastic family companion who is great with children and other dogs.
We do not have any plans for future litters, as we are just normal family dog owners who happened to choose to breed from .... (click to read more)

I have 3 flatcoats, mum Opal, daughter Rudi and son Carson. I am a occasional small breeder and follow strict health guidelines as an approved breeder with the Kennel Club. I worked as a Veterinary Nurse for 15 Years and now own my own dog walking business 'Kelso Critters'. The dogs live in the house as part of the family with twin boys and 3 cats!

Ballyriver is a small kennel breeding Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Flatcoated retrievers.

I have been involved in dog showing since I was 9 years old when I showed dalmations in junior handling classes. I then showed and bred smooth fox terriers for some years before taking an interest in gundogs and hounds.

Dogs have always been a part of my life.
My Mother bred and showed Pekingnese, and ran a busy boarding kennel.
I bred and showed Afghans for many years, as well as supported my Mother in running the kennels.
Candidacasa was my Mother's affix which passed to me.
The Flatcoats always appealed to me and I bought my first in 1977.
I was then out of the breed for a few years until I bought my foundation bitch Highammill Pandora (Broom) in 2002. Broom had a litter to Almanza Roundabout in 2006 from which I kept Frankie - Candidacasa RollaCoaster - who has done well at Championship .... (click to read more)

I have owned Flatcoated Retrievers since 2002 and absolutely adore the breed. My first Flatcoat achieved great success in agility and the 2 Flatcoats I have at present compete in agility, obedience and I also show my bitch, Gem, Ballyriver Foxtrot of Ciardubhan, who has qualified for Crufts twice. I co-own Hamish, Baltic Blue Gift from Basteta, with Jenny Campbell.

Brought up with dogs from more of a working point of view to having our own small number of family members over 3 decades. Over the years, have been best of breed at Crufts with a Hungarian Vizsla, Flatcoated Retriever and a Welsh Springer Spaniel. Though we choose to show, when we do breed, we aim to breed healthy happy pets, first and foremost. as well as trying to get our next memeber to our small family.
