    Kulawand Retrievers was founded in 1973 by Robert & Sandra Lane. Both Bob and Sandy worked with and had a love of animals from their formative years. Bob worked as a jackaroo in Australia for several years working with horses, cattle, sheep and cattle dogs. Sandy owned and trained collies.     I have always had a great passion for dogs and after meeting my first flat coat I decided they were the breed for me.
    I bought my very first flat coat in 2007 and her name is Brooke and she is what made me fall in love with the breed very loyal girl and always has a calm approach to everything she encountered.
    Our other black girl Bramble joined our family in 2013 a very active and energetic girl and lastly we have Fudge my first liver girl who is a very laid back girl eager to please who joined us early 2015.

    We have owned and loved Flat Coat Retrievers since 2004. Our first was a stunning liver boy called Archie from the Casblaaid lines and who we miss dearly.

    We currently have 2 beautiful girls, Maggie and Rusty. Maggie (Doongate Bombay Sapphire) is a sweet black girl and almost 10 years old now who continues to have funny 5 minutes running madly in circles.

    The Casblaidd kennel was founded in 1987, when Chris Hewison had his first dog, Nemo (The Viking of Woodbridge). Chris and Nemo went on to achieve many goals, not the least of which included the K.C.J.O. Junior of the Year and the K.C.J.O. Gold Medal in Obedience with the Welsh team. Nemo also partnered Louise Vaughan to the K.C.J.O. Junior Handler of the Year, showing the versatility of the Flatcoated Retriever.

I have owned Flatcoated Retrievers for 25 years originally just as pets then I discovered the joy of training them for the field. I breed occasionally, health, temperament, working ability and breed type are all important.     My affix Gamerights was granted in 2008 when Fern's litter arrived, and have bred three litters of Flatcoats.

    I now have just one bitch, Memphis, who has been shown with some success and is biddable and clever.

    I show and compete occasionally, and when I can I enjoy participating in working tests and have the pleasure of exhibiting at Crufts. My dogs start off at obedience training and Good Citizens and participate in gundog training, they live as family pets in the house with me.

    We had Goldies for years, but after a break of twelve years because of the pressures of work, we now have Flatcoats!

    We have two Casblaidd girls and now have our own affix Possingworth. The first puppy to carry this is Possingworth Dorothy,(Dottie)Millies daughter. She is now 4 and joined our picking band two years ago, she has proved to be as clever and willing as the other girls, intuitavely finding birds, with no fear of difficult cover.
