    We are a small, family kennel living in a small country village south west of Aberdeen in Royal Deeside. The countryside is amazing and we are thoroughly spoiled for long free running walks (with lot's of "wet" possibilities e.g. Peat bogs and mountain streams) for the dogs.

    All our dogs are first and foremost prominent members of our family. They have the best of care their health and happiness being of paramount importance to us.     The Casblaidd kennel was founded in 1987, when Chris Hewison had his first dog, Nemo (The Viking of Woodbridge). Chris and Nemo went on to achieve many goals, not the least of which included the K.C.J.O. Junior of the Year and the K.C.J.O. Gold Medal in Obedience with the Welsh team. Nemo also partnered Louise Vaughan to the K.C.J.O. Junior Handler of the Year, showing the versatility of the Flatcoated Retriever.

    I have owned Flatcoated Retrievers for 17 years and feel privileged to have discovered this wonderful breed and to have shared some of the best times of my life with them.

    I have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful flatcoat friends as a result of this partnership and can honestly say my life would be so much less meaningful without them.

    My affix Kahoku meaning A STAR is dedicated to Molly who was like her namesake, a true Shining Star. She was my first flattie, dog of a life-time and a friend like no other.

    In 2016 I was lucky enough to add an English Setter to the team, co owned with his breeder.

    I breed occasionally, only when I want a puppy for myself.

    I have been judging since 2000 and award CC's in Flatcoats.
    I am on the C list for English Setters.

    I have 5 kids ranging in ages 25 to 11. Our household is a busy and homely one My flatcoats live as part of the family, so it is important for me to breed for kind temperament and a loving personality.
    I enjoy showing my dogs all of whom have gained their stud book numbers, many also have a junior warrant and my bitch Hopevalley Morning Surprise of Bochilbarley has a reserve CC.
    All my dogs take part in the Kennel Club Good citizens Awards Scheme and most hold a minimum of a Bronze Award.

    We had Goldies for years, but after a break of twelve years because of the pressures of work, we now have Flatcoats!

    We have two Casblaidd girls and now have our own affix Possingworth. The first puppy to carry this is Possingworth Dorothy,(Dottie)Millies daughter. She is now 4 and joined our picking band two years ago, she has proved to be as clever and willing as the other girls, intuitavely finding birds, with no fear of difficult cover.

    Flat-XP is a small Austrian kennel founded in 2003. The “XP” in the title is derived from “a wonderful eXPerience.”

    Our love for flats started in 2001 when we bought our first bitch - Undine. She was very successful in shows and working tests and was awarded with many prizes, the most recent one in summer 2011.

    Undine’s first litter consisted of 12 wonderful puppies of whom we kept Anna and Ally.

    Our dogs are health screened according to the Austrian Retriever Club’s guidelines.

    I grew up with Skye Terriers and played an active part in showing and breeding, then started myself in Cockers aged 16, established the Ronevorg kennel name, bred 4 litters and showed locally. After getting married and the family wanting a bigger dog, we "discovered" flatcoats and have been hooked ever since.
