    We are a small, family kennel living in a small country village south west of Aberdeen in Royal Deeside. The countryside is amazing and we are thoroughly spoiled for long free running walks (with lot's of "wet" possibilities e.g. Peat bogs and mountain streams) for the dogs.

    The Casblaidd kennel was founded in 1987, when Chris Hewison had his first dog, Nemo (The Viking of Woodbridge). Chris and Nemo went on to achieve many goals, not the least of which included the K.C.J.O. Junior of the Year and the K.C.J.O. Gold Medal in Obedience with the Welsh team. Nemo also partnered Louise Vaughan to the K.C.J.O. Junior Handler of the Year, showing the versatility of the Flatcoated Retriever.

    Flat-XP is a small Austrian kennel founded in 2003. The “XP” in the title is derived from “a wonderful eXPerience.”

    Our love for flats started in 2001 when we bought our first bitch - Undine. She was very successful in shows and working tests and was awarded with many prizes, the most recent one in summer 2011.

    Undine’s first litter consisted of 12 wonderful puppies of whom we kept Anna and Ally.

    Our dogs are health screened according to the Austrian Retriever Club’s guidelines.

    Kulawand Retrievers was founded in 1973 by Robert & Sandra Lane. Both Bob and Sandy worked with and had a love of animals from their formative years. Bob worked as a jackaroo in Australia for several years working with horses, cattle, sheep and cattle dogs. Sandy owned and trained collies.     I breed occasionally, only when I want a puppy for myself.

    My affix Gamerights was granted in 2008 when Fern's litter arrived, and have bred three litters of Flatcoats.

    I now have just one bitch, Memphis, who has been shown with some success and is biddable and clever.

    I show and compete occasionally, and when I can I enjoy participating in working tests and have the pleasure of exhibiting at Crufts. My dogs start off at obedience training and Good Citizens and participate in gundog training, they live as family pets in the house with me.

    My late husband Geoff and I have been involved with dogs for over 30 years. Geoff was a Police Dog Handler in the Metropolitan Police for 25 years working on the streets with German Shepherds. He also took part in Police and Civilian trials with each of his dogs.

    I have owned Flat Coated Retrievers since August 2012, Zizou is the reason I have fallen in love with this breed. He is 4 years old, he competes in obedience and showing and does very well at both.

    Zizou has qualified for Crufts each year and he loves all the attention he gets, he is a very handsome and social boy. This year Zizou has competed at the highest level and recently won best of breed and then took Group 3 at Tayside, Lochee and District Canine club show a great result for my boy.
