I grew up with Skye Terriers and played an active part in showing and breeding, then started myself in Cockers aged 16, established the Ronevorg kennel name, bred 4 litters and showed locally. After getting married and the family wanting a bigger dog, we "discovered" flatcoats and have been hooked ever since. I bought my first flatcoat in 1988, Tara, a litter sister to the successful Exclyst Watchman. Tara lived to the fantastic age fo 14 1/2.

I currently have 2 flatcoats, Tess and Sally, and with my family now grown up I was able to get back into showing in 2004. I also accompany my .... (click to read more)

As a child I was brought up around dogs ,with both sets of Grandparents and my parents owning them.My parents had Cavalier King Charles spaniels for many years and we had a rolling rota for one or more of their three staying with us ,until one moved in permanently.Sadly she died of a tumour, but I continued with the tradition of owning Cavaliers which I also bred. However, out in the car one day with my daughters we saw a man walking a gorgeous puppy, so I screeched to a halt -as you do -and we all jumped out. That was the start of my love affair with the Flatcoated retriever-Isla you have a lot .... We live in Newburgh, Aberdeenshire - a village by the River Ythan and near the sea. We have two Flatcoated Retriever girls who are first and foremost our much loved family pets. We have only ever owned Flatcoated Retrievers as we find their wonderful personalities, soft silky coats and Peter Pan natures to be totally addictive. Our eldest bitch is Bronagh. The younger bitch is Caoimhe. Their Irish Gaelic home names are courtesy of our daughter. They are quite different girls not only in their looks but in their personalities too with Bronagh being a somewhat aloof 'lady' who loves to be .... (click to read more)
