Kulawand Retrievers was founded in 1973 by Robert & Sandra Lane. Both Bob and Sandy worked with and had a love of animals from their formative years. Bob worked as a jackaroo in Australia for several years working with horses, cattle, sheep and cattle dogs. Sandy owned and trained collies. In the 1970s, just after their daughter was born, they lost their last collie and decided to have a retriever that was more in keeping with their new family; and thus started 38 years of owning, breeding and showing Golden & Flatcoated Retrievers. Bramble is bred from a combination of UK and Scandinavian lines and she has turned into a fantastic family companion who is great with children and other dogs.

I have been in flatcoats since 1987. My first three flatcoats were all bred by the famous Norwegian kennel Cariena's, they were all show champions and super working dogs. In 2001 I moved from Norway to Mid-Wales where I live with my family and our flatcoats. The Llantrussa affix was established in 2004, as my FCI affix was not accepted in the UK.

We breed for classical flatcoat type, sound construction and super temperaments. Being a vet myself, all aspects of health and soundness are of upmost importance and only health tested and otherwise sound and healthy dogs are bred from. .... (click to read more)

Perdy (Ronevorg It's a Deal) joined us in October 2010 just after we lost Dilly.

After getting married and the family wanting a bigger dog, we "discovered" flatcoats and have been hooked ever since.
