Flat-XP is a small Austrian kennel founded in 2003. The “XP” in the title is derived from “a wonderful eXPerience.”

Our love for flats started in 2001 when we bought our first bitch - Undine. She was very successful in shows and working tests and was awarded with many prizes, the most recent one in summer 2011.

Undine’s first litter consisted of 12 wonderful puppies of whom we kept Anna and Ally.

Our dogs are health screened according to the Austrian Retriever Club’s guidelines.

Whilst raising a very young family my love of the breed remained with me through my parents flatcoats.Since the children have reached school age, I returned to Mary Grimes and brought home Belsud Brown Ace my lovely gentle brown boy who is the apple of my eye.

After much practise I started out with Open shows first being placed at most of these and getting a few BOB and group wins. Once I had got our confidence up I went on to champ show where we have now qualified crufts.

We kept a pup out of Jets first litter but sadly we lost her at the age of 16 months. So along came Sky. Sky has now started her show career and qualified for crufts.

We have owned flatcoats on and off for over 35 years and recently we like to breed a litter each year from one of our bitches. We enjoy bringing the puppies up and making sure they have the best start in life. We have kept in touch with many of the pups with their new owners and they visit from time to time which is always a great
treat for us. We also breed show and performance horses.
