    I have owned Cavalier King Charles Spaniels of all 4 colours for over 12 years and have been showing and breeding for the last 10 years. I only breed a litter when I want something to keep for myself, and only from health tested parents.

    All my dogs are family pets first & foremost and as such live in the house with me - if they turn out to be good enough to show, then thats a plus point! All my puppies are raised in the kitchen and are used to all the usual household noises & activities.

    We have had Cavaliers for over thirty years,about five years ago I met some Japanese chins and was
    completely hooked.
    I love Cavaliers,their wonderful temperament,and laid back attitude,but chins have something special.
    Chins are as bright as a button.
    We live out in the country,and have enough land for
    them to run free,weather permitting.My First Cavalier was sixteen years old,and had to be put to sleep through natural causes.

    At CHELSASA we put health as the priority and are members of the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme and Breed Clubs.
    All relevant tests are done including MRI scanning for syringomyelia in Cavaliers and hip scoring for the Beardies.

    Imogen, at 7 tears old has just been re-scanned for SM and is still clear of the disease as well as heart and eye clear. All Breeding Cavaliers here are DNA clear of Episodic Falling Syndrome, and Dry eye/Curly Coat Syndrome.

    My five Cav girls are first and foremost pets and live in the house as part of my family. Their puppies, therefore, are also born and reared as part of the household and are used to the usual noises of family living with children and our pet cat.

    We are owned and loved by 5 leonbergers, 5 cavaliers and 3 papiilons. I have had cavaliers for the last 25 years and had my first leo in 1994.

    We enjoy showing our dogs and have been quite successful. The highlight was getting Best of Breed at Crufts in 1999 with Manorguard Lady Lisa at Leotroy. "Poppi" was the light of my life and lives on through her granddaughter Leotroy Cheeky Vimto.

    All our leos have been hip and elbow scored and carry a current eye certificate.
