I have always had a love of dogs and as a family there was always a dog in the house, at a very young age I started to groom and style our poodle cross and do the local village dog show with some success.
On leaving school I went to work in a local kennels and studied grooming and kennel work and during this time a big black hairy dog came to be groomed and it was love at first sight.
For my 21st I was given a collie cross which was my first dog and we had many year of enjoyment, but when leaving home it was decided that she enjoyed .... (click to read more) -

We have kept dogs for 21 years. Our first breed was Old English Sheepdogs. We bred 2 litters with these. One of the dogs from the first litter gained her first cc and Best in Show at the South Eastern OES show. Unfortunately she passed away at an early age before gaining anymore success.
We have kept Briards for 10 years now, also breeding 2 litters so far from this breed.
Dylan, a male dog from the first litter had great success in the show ring as a puppy. We are still campaigning him.
All our dogs have had the neccessary health checks.
We are Kennel Club Accredited Breeders -

I have been invoved in showing breeding and judging dogs now for about 35 years, and loved every minute of it. I started off with Rough Collies and then saw my first big heart wrapped in fur, a Briard, I was smitten, and have never looked back. I have also been owned by Hungarian Pulis and German Shepherds. I have bred about 8 litters of Briards, but only breed when I want to keep a puppy. All my breeding stock are hip-scored and eye tested, and I only use stock with exeptional temperament, as I feel this is paramount in a breed of this size.

We are a small family run kennel established for 30 years. Our original breed, and first love, was Briards. We had several litters and made up a homebred champion. I award Challenge Certificates in the breed and, although no longer active in the show ring, still maintain a great interest. I also judge breeds in the Pastoral and Utility groups at Open Show level. I am also a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder.

I was brought up with dogs, mother quite rightly decided the dogs should come before having children! Afghans, mongrls, Old English and most notably the briards, including the last Desamee, Desamee Tessa Bear.
As soon as the time was right I wanted my own dogs, so of we went to Discover Dogs, and arrived back at the briard, 'A heart wrapped in fur'.
Our dogs are family pets and live in the house alongside cats and children.

"SEISO" becomes an American Champion in 2011
Anyone who knows me knows that I have been showing dogs as an exhibitor since 1985. I started showing my Old English Sheepdog he was a lovely boy called Sam. When I started showing everything was very strange and quite alien really but I quickly realised that it really was a highly charged and competative hobby especially when I started winning. Over the years since then Briards have come into my life and it has only been the last 6 years that we, (when I say we I mean Howard my partner and I) have seen major success firstly with "DITTO" 13 .... All our Briards are family pets and live together with us in the house. They have always been hip scored and eye tested, and all my briards are DNA clear for CSNB. Showing has been our hobby since 1983 and has given us great successes. Not only here in the UK but in Europe also. Temperament and soundness is our prime concern. We aim for quality, not quantity, having had only 11 litters in 25 years and bred 9 Champions with others winning CC's and RCC's.
I am also a judge, and apart from the UK have judged the breed in Fance, Germany, Switzerland, Holland and America.

Dogs have been part of all our lives, I grew up with them, so did my husband and my children became involved in showing dogs from an early age.
We started with Boxers - we still have a very elderly Boxer in residence sadly she has since passed away (she gained her stud entry at a very early age) and 3 stately Briards, of whom, Sophie our own breeding went on to gain 2 cc's and 1 rcc.
We still show her now and again and there is nothing she likes more than
to roll around in the mud once she's back on home territory. ( sophie has since passed away RIP Sophie )

I got my first Briard five years ago (Dec 04) after losing my beloved Bearded collie (Baldrick) ages 14. I had long admired the briard after first meeting them at Discover Dogs.
