We have 4 dogs, the terrier and beagle keep the rats and rabbits at bay, but the hard working, obedient ones are the Labradors. All our dogs are pets but Brock and his niece Minca also work through the season mainly picking up but also are very steady and reliable beating dogs, a joy to work.

Although I have bred GSD's for over 20 years I have always had a great love for whippets and had one as a pet for nearly 16 years. Geoff & Shirley Carter
We are based in the lovely village of Layer Marney on the outskirts of Colchester in Essex. We acquired our first German shepherd from the Akir Kennel in 1986 and our first Border Terrier in 1992.We applied for our afix of 'SHIRCAR' IN 1994.
Both Geoff and myself passionately love our dogs and we breed first for health, temperament and good looks. We bred our first litter of sheperds in 1993. We now have our own stud dog that we acquired from Anita Guy at the Marinita kennel called Kaiser, many thanks to Anita for breeding such a beautiful boy with a nature to match.
About twenty years ago i owned my first dog [a springer spaniel]. Unfortunatly i found out i was alergic to dogs and reluctantly had to sell him. It wasn't until many years later that a friend bought a border, After spending a lot of time with him i realised that i wasn't alergic to this breed.

We are Roger & Val Mann & have owned German shorthaired pointers since 1978 buying our first bitch for Roger to take shooting. He had previously shot over a GSPxLab (mac) given to him by the Wades of Larberry fame. When mac died we aquired Valger Penelope. She rounded up the cattle, gathered the sheep worked all season long & won and was placed in several Field Trials. We bred from her & her progeny, using what we thought to be good looking dogs that we knew worked well. The second bitch we bought-in in 1987 was Midlander Marbled Teal from whom we bred our CH Valger Chantilly sired by .... (click to read more)
