I acquired my first bernese in 1998 and have been addicted to the breed since. First and foremost, my dogs are pets and live in the house with me. I enjoy exhibiting and have been fortunate to have had quite a lot of success in the show ring, the highlight was in 2010 when my Alice won the Challenge Certificate for Best Bitch at Crufts.
I am actively involved in the breed in Ireland and firmly believe the way forward is education, knowledge and honesty.I would encourage all prospective owners to do their homework before acquiring a puppy. Speak to breeders and owners and do your research as .... (click to read more) -

We live with three bernese at the moment and like to dabble in showing, with some success.
Our dogs are basically pets and as such are not always perfect for the show ring but they are here with us for life and we are happy to accept whatever awards may come our way.

My family always had pets e.g. pet rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, pet goats and lambs. but the love of dogs was uppermost. we had Cairn terriers and Rough collies and Shelties.
Then I opened a Bed and Breakfast and this was the time I met a gentleman who resided with me when on business to Ireland. He had a most beautiful dog (Flatcoated retriever) who was excellent in field work, obedience and in the show ring. Harry introduced Andrew to Flatcoats leading us to obtaining Falco from Mrs, S. Derobbio and Phoenix friom Mr. T.G.Ford which are of Harry's dogs lines.

Palton Golden Retrievers live with James and I in Trimpley, Worcestershire. We had our first Golden Retriever back in 1973, sadly Bridie was an unregistered bitch and therefore was unable to be shown or bred, but she was a wonderful friend and companion. In 1980 we bought another bitch Contessa of Palton (Tranquillity Token of Regina ex Mornmist Quelle Belle) who we had great success with in the ring and obedience and later went on to be the foundation bitch of Palton Goldens.
Our dogs are pets and much loved, but also are working dogs, capable of a days picking up in the shooting .... (click to read more) -

We are a large family and always had dogs, we showed at Champion shows and got to Crufts but we loved the little family shows where the children could join in. We also do obedience on a small scale, but most of all we love having the dogs as family pets and its a great hobby.
Hopefully we will be showing our Bernese this year
as long as its fun for all concerned.
Occassionally we have puppies for sale so please enquire.
