Basset Bleu De Gascogne

Basset Bleu De Gascogne picture

The Basset Bleu de Gascogne originated in France and came into being from a breeding program that included the larger Grand Bleu de Gascogne. The BBdG is the smallest of all the Bleu de Gascogne. Known for its outstanding sense of smell, the BBdG is valued for its hunting abilities on both fur and feather game, covering ground at speed and with much enthusiasm!

A bold and enthusiastic breed with an affectionate and happy disposition and very curious. Like all hound breeds, basic obedience training is a must and owners must never lose sight that this is a hound. Given a choice of "chase the rabbit" or return to master, the rabbit will win 99 times out of 100!

A generally healthy breed with no major problems.
