The Milwyr Kennel has been successfully breeding Maremma Sheepdogs for over twenty years. Dogs bearing the Milwyr affix have won in excess of fifty CC's to date and the very successful Ch.Verner Milwyr, imported from Italy, is behind many of todays dogs. Vinnie ,as he was fondly known at home, is sadly no longer with us but his legacy lives on in his Champion sons and grandson. The breed is very healthy and we only need to hip xray our stock, all the Maremma sheepdogs at home, whether bred from or not, are hip xrayed and only dogs I consider of good enough temperament are bred from. Current Health Tests
The Gemthorne prefix was established in the 70's with the aim of breeding Border Collies that not only looked good but that where capable of doing a hard days work on the farm.
The name Gemthorne was taken from our first collies name, Nant Thorne Gemma and it was Gemmas death at 16 yrs, that caused us to purchase our first Australian Shepherds. We where looking for a breed that was not only fun to live with but that would fit into farmlife.
We found the perfect breed so we purchased Gibbands Painted lady (Issy) and her brother Gibbands Himalayian Jester (Indie).

Gefion Border Collies were born on 31st March 201.
We only breed superb temperament puppies and this litter are extremely outgoing and very playful. They have been wormed regularly and although live indoors they play outdoors when the weather permits and with young children.
They are really well socialised and live in a busy family household, so they are not shy of hustle and bustle.
Both Mum and Dad have been eye tested and have good hip scores.
Della has the most wonderful nature and temperament. She will work if needed but also has an off switch and is fantastic and laid back .... (click to read more) -
