KUSHAN

The kennel was founded 30 years ago. My aim is to breed sound, happy and healthy dogs.
Although I have now retired from breeding and judging I have decided to retain my Accredited Breeder status since I still receive many enquiries for help and advice. I am active on the Health Committee for the breed, and my dogs are being used in an international genome project researching Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome in flat-faced breeds, amongst other conditions.
There are currently no health tests recommended by the Kennel Club for Pekingese, although the KC has accepted the heart test being run by the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society (see the KC website and the Pekingese Health Committee's website).
The Kennel's Ch Kushan's Mad About The Boy was Best of Breed at Cruft's 1999.
