Our kennels and covered runs

Our kennels and covered runs

We are a small kennel and the health and welfare of our dogs is of the utmost importance. We concentrate on breeding for type, balance & soundness of movement, with temperament being a major priority.

We live on the banks of the beautiful river Wansbeck and can often be seen walking our dogs,
who are admired by people for their movement and elegance.
We moved to our present home approximately 3 years ago and in that time we have been concentrating on completing our kennels and covered runs. It was important to us that our dogs had good facilities and were comfortable.
Our house on the other hand is in need of some attention but we will get around to that in time !! Isn't that just the priority of a dog lover .
We only occasionally have puppies for sale, because we only breed when we want a puppy ourselves. We look for special families for our special puppies and strictly vet all potential owners.

We have been concentrating on our garden over the last 2 years in the hope to provide our dogs with a doggy proof excercise area. We are just about there, but have a little way to go. Onward and upwards with the spade and wheel barrow !! We have 1/3 of an acre which we hope to make safe and secure, to enable our dogs to have the freedom to run freely. They are boisterous and happy and love nothing better than to be running for balls and frisbees, the difficulty is keeping up with them !! Our new arrival Sunny is our Hungarian Wired Viszla. Wow he is a boy to keep up with. He is a bundle of energy and keeps us all fit. He has a temprament to die for and has completed our canine family !!
Many thanks to Terry and Gill Pearson for allowing one of their precious puppies into our home. We are hoping to make them proud of us when we begin his career in the show ring.

Our inside kennels and grooming room.

Our inside kennels and grooming room.

We wanted to complete our inside facilities to a high standard and we think we have accomplished this, with a lot of hard work and help from family and friends and calling on lots of past favours . We may have a lot to return in the future as a result !!

We have a lovely grooming room which is bright and spacious and allows us to spend quality time with our dogs as they get pampered and spoilt.

We 1st became interested in this wonderful breed in 2002 after watching Crufts. We were given the contact number of Sharon Seed - Norraysha Kennels and the rest is history. She said this breed is collectable and 8 years on we now have 8 American Cockers and a recently acquired Hungarian Wired Haired Viszla. Sharon and her family have become very dear friends and their knowledge about American Cockers has been invaluable to us.
We bought our first 2 American Cockers from Sharon, Gypsy and Ebony ( Norraysha Bedazzled ). Gypsy helped us build our confidence in the show ring winning classes at open shows.
Ebony, however was our foundation bitch and helped us accomplished so much, this included a Challenge Certificate won at the 40th Anniversary of the American Cocker Championship Show in 2007 and was reserve Best in Show just pipped to the post for Best in Show. She also won Reserve CC's and had multiple Best of Breed wins at Open Shows to her credit .
She gave birth to some fabulous puppies, some of which have also accomplished good results in the show ring and now to her credit her grandchildren are also winning CC's and reserve CC's. Most recently her grandaughter Norraysha Powerpoint became a Champion at Windsor Championship Show 2010, judge Joyce White.
Sadly she passed away in February 2009 very suddenly and has left a big void in our lives, we cannot describe our sense of loss but see her character daily in the offspring she produced. She has left us a stunning legacy.
