Devonelite

Beth was my first labrador and was purchased from the Rooklane kennels.

This beautiful bitch is everything I could possibly ask for, she pocesses all the wonderful qualities that make the labrador a terrific companion. She has passed those same qualities onto her offspring.

Beth is my best friend and I thank Christine Harris (Rooklane) for letting me have her.

Beth is my first show dog and has done me proud, always in the top 3 at any championship shows. She took me to Crufts in the first 6 months of our showing career. She also won many 1st, Best of Breed awards, Group awards at open shows and twice went Best In Show. Beth has also produced some very nice litters, proving herself to be an outstanding mother and good producer with championship show winning progeny.

Beth thrilled us by passing her Pets As Therapy test at 16 months of age, she attends our local residential home regularly along with her offspring Brodie and Brooke and grandaughter River.
Beth's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are winning well in the ring.

Beth is now 11 years old and fully retired, usually on my bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She still enjoys her walks out across the mountains and down to the river daily, and has more stamina than some of the youngsters when it comes to climbing the mountain. She also keeps an eye on the younger kids here and probably dispairs at their antics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brooke is from Beth's second litter by SH. CH. Sandylands Gadabout.

She is absolutely adorable and is a carbon copy of her mother Beth.

Brooke is a real mummy's girl and doesn't really have eyes for anyone else. She is a real baby and will probably never grow up. When we have visitors if they happen to sit on her spot on the sofa then she will either push them off in a not very discreet manner or climb onto their laps.

Brooke loves the show ring and she expects to win and for everyone to clap or she gets most disappointed!!! However I love her whether she wins or not. Brooke has won many many awards in the ring. To date she has gained many many awards both at championship shows and open shows.

She has had 2 litters and produced some outstanding puppies for me. From her first litter I kept River and from her second I kept Devon. She also has 3 other daughters who are winning well in the ring:

At the tender age of 9 months Brooke successfully passed her Pets As Therapy test. A real achievement for a labrador puppy! She attends the local residential home, where the residents adore her and SHE LOVES THEM AND THEIR BISCUITS. Not sure which she likes best!!!!

Brooke is normally found curled up on someones lap and doesn't really mind whether they're comfortable or not!!!

*STOP PRESS* - Brooke's daughter River passed her Pets As Therapy award at the age of 6 months.

Brooke is now retired and enjoying sleeping on the bed or sofa alongside her mother Beth. Although she will occasionally accompany the younger ones to shows during 2008.

Taryn arrived at Devonelite in March 2004 and what can I say.........................

Taryn as a puppy was totally unruly, off her rocker and trouble with a capital T.
Now aged 4 years she is extremely funny and very very loveable.

Taryn has attended some championship and open shows and has never been unplaced. I hope she will be out more during 2008.

Taryn also enjoys retrieving the dummies out in the fields or the ball from the river..

Taryn is from the Hafnau kennels and I thank Carolyn Jones for giving me the opportunity to have Taryn here. Taryn's mother Hafnau Taryn (2CC's) is a dog I fell in love with when I first saw her at 6 months of age.

Taryn's father is Ballyduff Oak.

Taryn has at the age of 4 just produced her 1st litter and from that we have retained her daughters Devonelite When You Believe (Ffion) and Devonelite Believes in Me (China) both are spitting images of their mother and both even sit with their paws crossed just like their mother!!!

Satin's father is Lynbee the Mole In Carpenny and her mum is Breeze. Her father Mole lives on a ranch in California.

Satin is a lovely young lady who iwas very sensitive as a puppy but is now one of the gang and very much in the middle of any trouble!!!. She loves to play and run on the mountain or curl up next to Beth on the sofa. She adores the bogs here and swimming in the river. Her ownly downfall is that if you throw the ball the others have retrieved it before Satin has even realised it has been thrown.

This lovely little girl has excellent conformation and a wonderful temperment, Unfortunately she refuses to show so we have to leave that to her sister Devonelite Scandal at Carpenny who resides at the world famous Carpenny kennels.

I thank Penny Carparnini of Carpenny Labradors for keeping Mole in the country for a few weeks extra to enable this mating to go ahead.

Devonelite live on the beautiful black mountains of Wales, our dogs have 5 acres, streams and a large pond to swim / play in.
We can't really be called a kennel as all of the dogs at Devonelite live in the house and if they are not out on our walks then they can be normally be found on the sofas or curled up next to the fire.
We feel very privileged to have the dogs we have here at Devonelite, each have their own personality and approach to life but we are proud of the fact that we are producing dogs who have lovely conformation, breed type and true labrador temperament. Here at Devonelite we also have 3 GENERATIONS OF PETS AS THERAPY DOGS, which means the dogs can bring a lot of happiness to those in residential care and hospital.
At Devonelite we only breed when we want something for ourselves. We breed all 3 colours of labrador - black, chocolate and yellow.
All dogs are KC Registered and have current hip and eye certificates. Quality puppies are occasionally available to pet/show homes.
Our puppies are reared in the house with lots of handling and socialisation. They are raised with other dogs, cats and children.
Before anything else our dogs are much loved family pets and regardless of what they win in the ring etc they are the best dogs ever, who mean the world to us. The main emphasis for everyone at Devonelite is to HAVE FUN.

We have supplied puppies to Guide Dogs For The Blind.
