I have been brought up with dogs, mostly large breeds & Terriers. I have owned German Shepherds and have had a Bernese Mountain Dog.
I fell in love with the Leonberger in 1995 when I went to see some BMD's & there were also 2 Leos there. I spent all afternoon shaking hands with one of the Leos and couldn't take my eyes off her. She was the Mother of my first Leo, Fern.

I was encouraged to enter an Open Show and she won her AVNSC class when Leos were in the Utility Group. The rest is History. You can see the Showing successes if you follow the links.
I am Treasurer of Newton Abbot & South Devon Canine Society which holds two Open Shows annually.
I also like to do Obedience. Fern has her Intermediate Certificate, and Level 1 & 2 Carting. Boo her Silver Good Citizens & Truly her Gold. Truly was part of an Obedience Display Team. All the dogs run free daily in fields or on the beach, which is a 10 minute walk away.
I occaisionally have a litter when I want a puppy to keep. I have a new puppy dog , Rowan, and a puppy bitch, Sophie. The aim is to breed happy, healthy pups. All the dogs are hip, elbow and eye tested. I am a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder and meet with the KC and Leonberger Club criteria.
The dogs are not the whole of my life, but they make a whole lot of difference.
