A happy friendly girl, she is my daughters dog and they love each other to bits, she has just started competing in agility but still has lots to learn as she delights in being a clown and making the crowd laugh.

I am now concentrating on producing sound Spanish Water dog stock with good temperaments and all round ability, these dogs excel in many fields and are suitable for show, work or pets for people with time to let this breed do something be it physically or mentally challenging.
All my dogs are hip scored and eye tested and I will only breed from stock with a good sound temperament. They have been brought up with my daughter and get on well with all children. They have been well socialised, a must with this breed and will stand for anybody to talk and cuddle them.
They will go all day if asked, but do have an off switch and will settle after a good walk and not constantly pester to do something else.
There is some false information on another kennel page saying that a scoring system used by a certified eye specialist is useless, this is untrue the dogs either get a fail or pass as recognised by the BVA, if you are unlucky enough to have a dog that fails, he will also give you a score and an opinion in whether or not the dog could become affected, which is a good idea as if only a low score will put your mind at rest...if a high score gives you an idea of how often to have your dogs eyes tested to see if the condition is progressing...hardly a useless system..If the results were unrecognised then they would not appear in the Kennels Clubs Breed records Supplement nor would you get any paperwork with the results on...
I am also the first UK kennel to have my dogs DNA PRA tested to determine if they are clear, carriers or affecteds, the type of PRA that SWD can have is a progressive disease and may not show up in a dog until it is mature, sometimes as late as age 6 or 7, the dog may have then been used extensively at stud or produced many litters, by which time it is too late and may have produced affected progeny..DNA testing is the way forward to determine what status your breeding dogs/bitches are...
They will still need to be tested whenever they are being bred from in case any other anomolies occur, but at least you know the only type of PRA currently in the breed has been tested for. Please ask your chosen breeder if they have done this test and if not why not, do not be put off by Its not in my lines, how do they know if they havent tested by DNA...!!!!
