Lynn & I have always had dogs from being young, and during the first few years of our marriage. When we started a family we found our oldest daughter Andrea has eczema which was made worse by dogs, so for a few years we were without a pet dog.

As Andrea grew her interest in dogs grew, by this time we also had Emma our second daughter. Both Andrea & Emma had imaginary pet dogs and walked round the house with leads and empty collars and begged for a dog of their own. For a few years we owned poodles due to Andrea’s eczema. But as the girls grew older I decided that it was my turn again to have the dog I had always wanted a German Shepherd and we would build kennels outside so they didn’t affect Andrea too much. We bought our first German Shepherd Tara and I trained her in Agility and obedience in which she did extremely well gaining 100% in her obedience certification. During which time we were introduced to people in the breed who showed dogs, we attended several shows and from here on the whole families’ interest in the breed grew deeper.

One of our first dogs bought for showing Jacqui who did extremely well in her earlier years gaining many 1sts & Best Puppy’s etc. Her success led us to buying another show bitch Elsa. We stayed in the show circuit for several years, but took a few years break due to family commitments, however we still kept German Shepherds and by which point we now owned 4 or 5.

Several years down the line with the children now grown up, Lynn and myself came back into contact with friends we had known from our days in showing and decided it was time to start enjoying the showing again. We bought our first new bitch, Lararth Cariad (Nush) from David & Sharon Bowen who did well coming 1st in her first ever show at Heads of the Valley. Along with this we decided to breed our own dogs & along came our affix Loutoria generated from our children’s middle names Louise & Victoria. We currently have two dogs doing very well in the show Ring Lararth Lauser & our own breed Loutoria Christiano (owned in partnership Andrew Connolly), both proving to be exciting new prospects for the future.

Our next aim for the kennel is to breed our own Loutoria Champion.
