The first Boyers gordon was purchased in 1972 with the aim of producing sound dual purpose gordon setters, ie dogs that look good and can work as well, and also have good, biddable temperments. It has been successful in this aim and has produced Champions, Sh Champions and field trial award winners consistantly over this period. I never breed a litter unless I intend to keep a puppy as my dogs are kept as pets with showing and trialling as a hobby. All my dogs are put through the BVA/KC hip scoring scheme and Scree, Sedge and Scarla ( Scarlatti) have been tested as being DNA"Clear" of the PRA rcd4.
