Gunstrux Gazelle (Parsley) photo by: Jo Norman | Advance winner Heinaaron TuoTulipano x Sentling Acquerino with Zakro
Parsley is a total delight to own but much prefers to be hunting than showing and has boundless energy. Parsley produced 4 beautiful puppies in July 08 to Finnish dog Heinaaron Modi Cortesi. A young dog proving to be an eye catcher in both the ring and field, one to watch out for. |
Gunstrux Lugana Brolettino photo by: Jo Norman | This is Enzo, and what a litter stunner he is turning out to be. He demonstrates excellent bone, lovely front and rear angulation and spring of rib. He is so intellegent and works things out very fast and is so bold and scared of nothing. Look out for Enzo in the show ring in the future!!! |
I have been involved in Gundogs for 14 years. My first breed being cocker spaniels. My first bitch was out of old and typical lines, Colinwood, Lynwater etc. She was a dog in a million and produced my first real show dog in Gunstrux Dillon. Not just show dogs, Dillon, Bronte and Mother Gemma worked a local shoot below Whipsenade Zoo which meant instead of cows for company we had Bisen!!! Due to getting RSI and being unable to manage the coats I looked for a short coated gundog and after 5 years I set my heart on the Bracco. Entranced by their beauty and ring presence.
The Bracco if true to type is not a small fine dog, it is a magnificent dog with VaVa Voom, they really are the Ferrari of the Gundog group, a head turner. A George Clooney not a Roy Cropper!!
They are my passion and I will regardless of current trends which are changing the breed to be something not true of type but I will continue to breed traditional types for the descerning owner who also has a passion for the Bracco as it should be.
Over the past year alot of hereditory problems are now raising their heads including a number of cases of en and ectropian which is both painfull to the dog and costly to the owner and not to say heartbreaking, also two cases of glaucoma. Bad mouths also have been reported. It will always be my principal that I will never breed with dogs known to have or to produce problems within the breed. This is why I have chosen to bring my dogs in from Europe and return to mate Parsley and dogs used from the UK to the best of my knowledge sound and healthy.
There is no amount of profit or show ring glory that would make me become blind to these problems. Health is everything.
As the old saying goes " no foot no horse "
