BOREAS POMERANAINS - EST 1985

I started showing and breeding dogs in my teens with my parents in 1975 we showed Rough Collies under the Glenbowdene Prefix.

In 1985 I purchased my first Pomeranian from Betty Anderson (Andersley Kennels) his breeder was Agnes Methven - Golden Pegasus at Boreas (Cream Dog) - Apollo gave me an excellent start in the breed by winning numerous BOB, BIS and RBIS including Res CC at The Welsh Kennel Club in the 1980‘s. I then purchased a black bitch again from Betty Anderson - Fundell Midnight Melody bred by Gwenda Davidson who produced, Boreas King of Spades - owned by Alison Brown - his showing career was also spectacular by winning 5 ResCC at Champ Shows when blacks were not popular in the showing ring. I then progress to purchase an orange dog from Gwenda Davidson of Fundell Kennels - Ch Oh So Artful at Boreas - the title speaks for itself. He was the sire of Boreas Pantry Pirate - again shown extensively to win a Res CC. In 1991 Ch Oh So artful was the winner of UK Top Toy Competition for 1990. After this my circumstances changed.

In 2000 I bought from Patrick Constable Highpom Student Prince - I needed new blood and it worked but he was not used to his full potential. However, I have his grandchildren and great-grandchildren now

I have a small kennel of Pomeranians and I only breed Poms -my aim has always been to improve and produce healthy well structured puppies and adults and this is ongoing, not one is ever perfect and it should not be the case. When breeding there should always be a plan - the big kennels of bygone years always had one to improve the health and welfare of the breed - this I hope I will continue to contribute in a small way
