Welcome to Rushingwind. I am a small hobby Kennel with an interest in showing. I have had labradors for the past 20 years, and bred the odd pet litter when I wanted one for myself.
I am a founder member of the Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme and adhere to the standards set out by them.
Three years ago I was looking for a new dog. I wanted to have a go at showing and now with grown up children I felt I had the time. I had always had an admiration for the Rottweiler and decided to find out more about the breed.
I spoke to breeders, read books and went to shows , the more I found out the more I felt this was the breed for me.
I was very fortunate at that time to meet Linda Hayes of Ghislaine Rottweilers, who was kind enough to let Ghislaine Guardian of Rushingwind (Neith) come to me, my first Rottweiler!
Neith gave me a good grounding both in the breed and the show ring. She has had some great results at shows with group placings and qualifying for Crufts 2007.
However I feel she does not really enjoy showing anymore, the day out yes but not the ring ,she does it for me, not for fun. So after much thought I have taken the decision not to show Neith.
Neith's hip score sadly came back quite high for the breed. She will now remain our much loved pet and have the odd day out at the shows with Bella.
See Bella's story below.
Just before Christmas 2006 I was given the chance of another Ghislaine puppy. I could not say no! So Ghislaine Moonlight with rushingwind ( Bella) came home with us. She is a half sister to Neith and thats where any similarity ends!
Bella is always up to no good and keeps me on my toes, her show results though speak for themselves, she has been placed at every Championship show we have attended so far. We will still be at the shows this year and we enjoy everyone of them.
April 2008.
Bellas hip score 5/6.
I will now be looking to mate Bella at the end of this year after she has turned Two. Bella,Neith and the gang are going to spend the summer at home with us and taking as many trips to the seaside as possible. My son Robert who is the love of Bellas life is finishing his 6 month tour of Afghanistan next week and we all look forward to his long leave and plenty of fun out and about.
