Ralph is by Ch Emred Devils Chance (Bull Terrier) out of Badlesmere Bit 'O' Bother (Miniature Bull Terrier) and is co-owned with Juliet Shaw. He is therefore a first generation interbred.
Ralph crashed onto the show scene being awarded Best Puppy in Show at Sheffield Bull Breeds (at 6 months - his first show) and gaining a qualification for Crufts 2003. He won the Reserve CC at Crufts 2003 on his first outing as a puppy at a champ show and the CC at Crufts 2004. He became a "baby champ" winning 3 CCs before he was a year old and currently has 14CCs. He was Top Male Miniature Bull Terrier 03/04 (Dog World). He was very lightly shown in 2005, but gained Best in Show at the Miniature Bull Terrier Club Champ Show in Nov 05. He has now been retired from the show ring, having achieved so much for me.
Peter Larkin - top international breed judge and author of "The Bull Terrier" - wrote at Southern Counties 2003
"Every so often a judge may be fortunate to find just what he is looking for and today was the day. so few mins have shown near ideal characteristics of the breed and Blue Beard is one of those few"

Dave is by Ch Badlesmere Blue Beard at Byzantine, out of Badlesmere Bedeviled and is line bred on both sides to Ch Emred Devils Chance and is therefore a second generation interbred. His Badlesmere (miniature) line is second to none.
He has inherited his father and grandfather's fabulous head, correct conformation and excellent movement and will make a good cross for smaller mini bitches to improve construction and balance. Dave also has a correct mouth. He has a wonderful temperament, so important for the breed and is adored by all the family.
He has a current clear eye certificate (9.6.08). Clear heart test. Clear ultrasound scan of kidneys.

KENNEL CLUB ACCREDITED BREEDER
We are a small kennel, aiming to breed for type, construction, movement and above all temperament.
We are also attempting to limit the damage with regards to PLL (primary lens luxation) - this being the main problem with the miniature bull terrier - by only breeding interbreds or minis with some degree of standard blood, thus reducing the chances of PLL occurring in the line.
Of course, it is not possible currently to completely rule out PLL carriers in interbreds, but we feel that as breeders we are responsible for the welfare of the breed and so are making every effort to think carefully about lines before planning a litter.
We are very keen on health testing our stock prior to breeding from them.
I am the current Miniature Bull Terrier Club's Health Officer, Secretary of the Southern Miniature Bull Terrier Club (proposed) as well as being the breed note correspondent for Dog World newspaper.
Here you will find a list of questions that are frequently asked, I hope this helps...
Do Mini bulls like children? Yes... they love children, but they are a lot of dog in a small package and can knock a small child down. Minis love to play and will nibble on children’s clothing or shoes and Minis love to chew and eat children's toys, so close supervision is always recommended. Personally, I don’t recommend you having a Mini with children under 5, especially if it is your first pet. Small children and dogs of any breed should never be left alone together.
Do Mini bulls get along with other animals? Mini bulls do get along with other animals if properly socialized from a puppy. They do however tend to play rough and sometimes get somewhat over excited. It is a good idea to take your new puppy/dog to a local ring craft class for good socialization. Once you start taking your mini to training you will get a good feel whether he/she is going to get along well with other dogs. Every once in a while a Mini will not get along with another dog, we find this more common with same sex of dogs... male vs. male and in whole males this can exacerbate the situation. The best thing to remember is that you have a Terrier.... so supervision is always in your best interest.
Are Minis good in the house? Yes...... Minis love to be in the house as they live to be close to you and love to be part of the family. They also love to sleep on the couch, get in your bed, sometimes even get in the bath with you and follow you around. Where there is a comfortable spot you'll find a mini.
Do Minis chew things? Of course they do!! They love to find toys, curlers, shoes, toilet paper, remote controls, and any thing of interest. Most of the time it is puppies that get in the most trouble, so give them lots of toys and you will find they leave the other stuff alone. I said most of the time! Not all Minis are chewers... I have known many people who own Minis that say their dog has never chewed anything.... perhaps you will be a lucky one!
Do Minis like to swim? Some of them love to swim... I have a couple that love to get in the bath and most of mine are quite the nuisance at bath time or near a lake. I bought a paddling pool just for them and in the summer they can be found cooling down in it !
Do Minis do well in Flats? Minis do well in a flat but you will need to exercise your Mini several times a day. When Minis get bored they tend to do naughty things... Don't ask me what type of naughty things... you just never know?
Do Minis require a fenced garden? I personally feel that all dogs should have available a well fenced garden. For obvious reasons a garden is a great benefit for any dog, but it must be remembered that there is no substitute for getting out and about with your Mini – they like to see new places and experience new things as much as you do !
Do Minis Moult ? Most dogs moult, just some more than others... Minis moult in the spring and it lasts about 2 weeks. Daily grooming will help this problem and if this fails, just wear the same colour as your dog!
