I have been mad about Dalmatians all my life, and at the tender age of 16 my mum finally agreed to let me have one. Along came Polo, Kenzed High Flyer, at 1 year old. I was so delighted about having a Dalmatian at last that I decided to take him to a few local dog shows. I started with Devon County Show; he won his class and got best of breed. Then I took him to a couple more shows where he kept winning, first, second, best of breed, group 4, and best in show at novelty shows. So I decided to try my luck at a championship show, LKA. He came 3rd in post graduate out of about 16 dogs and qualified for Crufts. I couldn't believe it. He had a 7 year showing career with much success. But unfortunately thanks to my nerves I didn't take him to enough champ shows to get any CC's, which I now regret.
Sadly, last year Polo had an accident and had to have his tail amputated. I was heart broken because I knew his showing career was over. But at least he is still with me, that was more important than anything.
After much discussion with my other half, he agreed to let me buy a puppy bitch to show. So along came Chelsea last October, thanks to Maree Kenyon of Marricdale Dalmatians. I am now living in Northumberland after relocating in February 2008, and will be doing as many shows as Chelsea will allow to try and get out of her what I was too nervous to do with Polo. I have grown up a lot and gained much more confidence to go and have fun in the show ring. So that's exactly what we'll be doing.
And come mid 2010 we will be breeding a litter of puppies when Chelsea. If you wish to be kept informed of the litter, please email me with your contact details and the type of dog/bitch you are looking for and I will add you to my puppy list. All puppies will be KC registered and BAER hearing tested before being sold. Please rest assured that I am a member of the British Dalmatian Club, Dalmatian Club of Scotland and the North of England Dalmatian Club, therefore I do everything according to club regulations and ensure all puppies go to suitable loving homes. I am not in this to make money, I am extremely passionate about the breed and want to breed the wonderful quality dogs like those around at the moment, but with my own name next to them.
