Shoonahs Aaliyah Hips 6:7 photo by: Marilyn Barford | Ali is a wonderful example of the breed, she is gentle, kind and a lovely golden shade. She is full litter sister to Gabi and makes the seventh generation this kennel has proudly produced.
Ali is the 'regal' one, always ready to pose for the camera, but also loves to chase her favourits ball. Unfortunately she often loses it as she doesn't like getting her fur ruffled in the chase!!

Shoonahs Gabrielle Hips 6:7 photo by: Marilyn Barford | Gabi, Ali's full litter sister, has a lovely pale buttermilk shading on her back. She also has an excellent temperament but is the clown of the two always looking for the next game.
Her mother gave birth to her unexpectedly in the shrubbery showing no signs of pending labour and abandoned her - she was the firstborn, and luckily my son heard her pitiful squeals and speedily found her in a muddy hole, cleaned her and warmed her up, she has a huge personality which obviously saved her, as once another of her litter mates were born her mum took to them all well.

A TYPICAL SHOONAHS/LEON SON photo by: Marilyn Barford | A typical example of 'Shoonahs' quality puppies |
Shoonahs Jodi Mae - - Hips 5:8 photo by: Marilyn Barford | Jodi is the very feminine daughter of Gabi born 1st May 2003. So far she is showing all the traits of my line, being very typical of the breed with loads of stamina, and a will to please. She moves like a gazelle when running across the field.
She is pale, has a lovely coat developing, a kind eye and a very loving nature. As with all my dogs, she likes nothing more than running freely and also driving her mother crazy! Poor Gabs.
Jodi has a younger sister, Chelsea, same parentage, |
I have been breeding Goldens for some 22 or so years and pride myself in producing occasional litters of puppies with temperament and conformation true to the breed. I am as happy for my pups to go to pet homes as I am for them to be shown, but I always make sure that they will be in a home for life and that you are truly prepared for the reality of a growing youngster before you take one on.
I am always pleased to chat about this lovely breed and offer advice or suggestions to anyone with a problem, if I can help. I have bred dogs for 25 or so years and have learned hands on, the best (and hardest) way.
Please note: When you come to visit my dogs, please do not wear your 'Sunday best' as the dogs love to hug you and I always like to see your interaction with them before you see my puppies. That way I feel you get some idea of what you are letting yourself in for. It is essential however, that when visiting, you haven't just come from 'a day out' where unknown animals may have wandered, as I am always wary of outside infections being walked to my dpor via clothing/footwear, even though all my adult dogs are of course boostered up-to-date, puppies are vulnerable.
I AM ON THE CORNWALL/DEVON BORDER - EASY TO FIND FROM EITHER THE A.30 or the A.38. |
