Tameron Mr Hugo XY
Ch Tameron Mr Red Edition
It all started back in 1977, when my husband George and I were trying for a family. We had a few problems along the way, and the medical staff advised us/me to take up a hobby! And from that day forward, I took an interest in showing dogs.
My first dog was called 'Skippy', a grey/white male Shih Tzu from the “Saleden” kennel in Carlisle. He did okay at open shows, but that was it - I was hooked on dog showing!
Christine Solesby “Mingrovia” affix had a litter of puppies which we went to look at, and along came 'Tammy' (Champion Mingrovia Elite Petite Of Tameron), a granddaughter of 'Skippy'. 'Tammy' became my first champion, but she didn’t achieve her title until she was a veteran of 9 years - but this was a great achievement, as she was still only my second Shih Tzu.
In 1981 came the birth of our daughter Helen, who became a very familiar face around the show ring. She had other hobbies initially, before falling for the dog show scene. She then started with junior handling, agility and all the other activities the Kennel Club offer the younger generation. Helen competed at Crufts a few times for the KCJO Triathlon with a friend's Standard Poodle 'Carmen' who became a very big part of our family for many years. Then Helen started to show 'Dinah' (Ch Tameron Miss Finesse) who was our second Champion; she too gained her crown as a veteran.
We are only a small kennel based in Derbyshire, we line-breed for breed type, conformation, movement and temperament.
