I have been a breeder for more than 35yrs ,i bred my first litter of pups when i was 19years old , i grew up on a farm and learnt all about animal construction from the herds/stock men. We have always had dogs in our house,but i didn`t get the show bug until i got my first Rottie.I served on the British Rotweiler Ass. Committee,and started on the road to become a judge.I have now progressed to become a Championship Show judge.I have judged the Leonberger at Crufts three times. This year i will judge at a Leonberger international show in Sweden.In the 1980s i became interested in the Leonberger breed, joined the club and became a member of the committee and so my love affair with the Leo.began.I have owned/trained /exhibited the top Leonbergers all through 1990s and continue through till the present time.I own the first UK Leonberger Champion(male) , my latest Champion Will Scarlet is the breed record holder and was featured in the Crufts preview this year. Over the last 17 years i have imported 9 Leonbergers from europe, to help widen the gene pool in the UK. I work with a five year plan and always have a vision in mind.My breed lines are behind most of the successful kennels in this country today.I am not a prolific breeder and only breed when i need to keep a puppy for the future plans. i have endeavoured to breed for a sound healthy dog with a good temperament, most puppies go to pet homes. The Leonberger should be a confident ,loveable,a gentle giant,a joy to own and live with.My aim as a breeder is to strive to maintain this in the breed i love.
