We have been involved with dogs since the 1970's, our first breed being the Great Dane.

As our children grew older and after many month without a dog, we decided we would like to introduce another large breed of dog into our family, one that was suitable for children and activities that my husband and I could get involved with outside (other than golf).

Despite looking at many breeds we found ourselves constantly being drawn back to the Newfoundland.

Our first newf was a black boy who we called Pilot (we initially went looking for a brown bitch!). We joined a water group and he took to water like a duck. He had the best personality you could wish for and could smell water miles away.

A year later the bug hit us and we got Leah
(Aarozeen Under your Thumb at Sparkybears) a brown bitch and that was the beginning of Sparkybear Newfoundlands. We haven't looked back since! (Golf clubs sold at car boot!)

We mostly work our dogs but have entered championship shows and had numerous success in which three have qualified for cruft's over the years.

Our youngest star is Sparkybear Cool as ice ( Baloo) who has qualified for crufts at Manchester champ show when he was six months and one day!

Our dogs are family pets first and foremost, they are indoor dogs and out number the humans!

Our line is large, but have the greatest temperament you could want, raised along side our family and ruled by our 7year old granddaughter who lives with us!

All have low hip scores and are heart and Cystinuria tested clear.

This breed is a huge responsibilty and needs alot of care and attention, but in exchange you will be given unconditional love!

WARNING: NOT A BREED SUITABLE FOR THE HOUSE PROUD
