The Steinway Kennel was founded in 1995, originally for breeding Airedale Terriers. Later we expanded our breeding program with Russian Black Terriers and we have an Affenpinscher breeding program also since 2002. We also have Japanese chin. In 2007 we got our first red-sesame Shiba inu girl.
Our dogs are very successful in the ring and all are FCI certified; exhibited and bred under the rules of the Hungarian Kennel Club since 1899. Most of them are Hungarian Junior Champions, Hungarian Champions, Hungarian Show Champions or Hungarian Grand Champions and many of them won Derby Show or became Champion of Champions of the year.
We moved to City of Erd in, Pest County, next to Budapest in 2004 where we have yard and garden big enough for our doggies. The toy size doggies are living in the house with us as family members just like the biggers (but believe me, a Russian Black does not fit in your bed) who live outdoor daytime but sleep in the house if they want to.
Our puppies are all FCI certified by the Hungarian Kennel Club, three times inoculated, three times dewormed, tattooed, chipped and socialized. Before they go to their new family we give help with advises about the specialties of the breed and general dogkeeping, grooming.
Do not forget that Hungary is a relatively new member of the European Union and althought it is a participant of Pet Passport Scheme but in the Uk, Erie, Malta, Norway and Sweden there are special requirements which means the puppy may have to be examined thoroughly checking the antibody level of rabies in blood, must have repeted treatments against ticks, fleas, flies and worms and there is a waiting time (3-6 months) for those countries before you can take him home. We all hope that this absolutely useless practice will be terminated soon.
We prefer to know about the new owner before we give a puppy away and also after it we want to know about the sold puppy as we want to be proud breeders of beautiful and successful doggies. We rarely ship doggies and expect the new owners being presented to pick up their new family members. We did the same to build our kennel as we travelled all over the world and invested so much time and money celebrating the love of our favorite animals.
I am a certified show secretary/steward for MEOE, Hungarian Kennel Club and MKSz, Hungarian Cynological Alliance (FCI). I am also a certified pet breeder and vendor of the Republic of Hungary.
