The Valaller Swedish Vallhunds

Breeders of:

  • Swedish Vallhund

Owners of:

  • German Shepherd Dog

Welcome to the world of Valaller Swedish Vallhunds, a small but dedicated kennel based on The Somerset Levels and owned by Debbie Howe. A relative newcomer to the breed (2012) but an admirer of them for over two decades after many years of showing and working other breeds.

Let me introduce you to our two beautiful Vallhunds.....

'ALFIE' - CH Starvon Veni Vidi Vici ShCM (Born December 2010)

'RAIN' - Pepperthyme On A Rainbow. (Born December 2014)

Our first Swedish Vallhund, the very handsome Alfie, who has brought so much to our lives. Top winning puppy 2011, Crufts Best of Breed 2014, top winning male 2015. His show success has been an amazing journey and one we hope will continue for a few more years yet.

And beautiful Rain, who at her first show aged 6.5 months, won the Reserve Challenge Certificate under a breed expert. A sassy, confident and loving little diva....she knows she is something special.

BEST OF BREED
Judge: Breed Specialist Mrs Melanie Harris (Candace)

OD(9) A lovely class with some good ones being unplaced - a rare occurrence in the Vallhund world! 1. Starvon Veni Vidi Vici ShCM. Judged this dog when he was a raw puppy but even then there was potential to be seen. Now rising 3 years old, he is really looking the part. Masculine head which is long, clean cut and good wedge with a well defined stop. Well placed ears which he used effectively and correct mask markings. To be critical I would prefer a darker eye but this in no way detracts from his expression which is alert and watchful. Strong long neck into excellent shoulders, with a well boned, straight front and strong well padded feet. Well laid shoulders into a level topline, with a short strong loin. Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Strong well muscled hindquarters of good width, which enabled him to move actively and freely around the ring. Excellent coat of good colour and markings. Well handled to get the very best out of him. Was pleased to award him the CC, his second and BOB. I am very sure his third (and many more) will follow soon. I considered him a very worthy representative to go through to the Group. (Melanie Harris, Candace)

PEPPERTHYME ON A RAINBOW - 'RAIN'

A new chapter in my life prompted the arrival of this gorgeous girl who arrived home on Valentine's Day 2015! The epitome of love, she hurtled in and shook our world! Confident, intelligent beyond belief, and with a wisdom well beyond her days she has captivated us ever since!

Ultra feminine, her cheeky but very charming attitude transfers well to the show rings where she has started making her mark as a quality Vallhund.

To date, she has collected a Reserve Challenge Certificate and some very respectable breed and Group placings. Shown lightly through 2016, she has further won every class entered at championship show level, including Best of Breed at Bournemouth.
