Breeders of:

  • Labrador Retriever

I originaly owned, showed, worked, & bred Labradors in the late 1970s when I lived in Eastbourne. In those days as well as showing all my dogs were also trained to pick up. My best working dog was a bitch called Mardas Chiming Bells who I had bought at 6 months old from Marlene & David Hepper with the proceeds of a litter I had just bred. When I moved to Yorkshire in 1982 I gave her to the late Eddie Climpson. Apart from a son of hers that I bought with me I have been without any dogs until 13 years ago when I bought a Black bitch as a pet. I started limited showing 4 years ago when Jayde Jet Black of Barnagrow (Shona)arrived here. This year Lejie Song of Summer (Katie)was added to the kennel & her show career has got of to a flying start.
My affix is Barnagrow which is the name of one of my favourite lakes that I fish in Ireland.

Shona is a big strong bitch that has had 1st places at championship & open shows. Running loose she is the best mover I have ever seen.

Mimi has been here for 2 years. She went back to Mardas this year to have her litter & has now joined us permantly. She has never been shown but has a superb pedigree being a daughter of Sh Ch Lindall Redemption & Sh Ch Mardas Sahara Silk. She is a litter sister to Mardas Roman Republic & Mardas Ramona Chase.

Mimi has just been to her first show at the age of 31/2 & ended up BOB at Bridlington C.S. open show.

Katie had a superb start to her showing carreer going BPIS at the North West Labrador Retriever Club Open Show at her first show. She has followed this up with firsts & placings at championship shows & another BPIS at the Three Ridings Labrador Club Open show.
It is planned to show her again next year once she is back in coat.
