WESTBRIDGE

I have been breeding and showing dogs since 1974. My first dog was a sable Rough Collie, Jason of Kentine, born 11/11/1973 who was followed a few years later with Ugonys Dream of Oliver, a great blue merle of the old Westcarrs breeding and my love affair with Blue merles.

I got my first Smooth collie in the early 80s from the Cotsbelle kennels of Betty Hodgets where I found them to be more fun than the Roughs. After many great years in Collies I spent a few years living in Italy .

In the 90s I fell for the Schnauzers. I had always liked them and finally got one for myself. I never looked back only wishing I had got one sooner.

On a visit to view a new puppy I met my first English Toy Terrier which I purchased. I knew nothing about the breed at this point but immediately fell for Tilly's charms. I had been around terriers as a child but she was so not like most of the Jack Russels my parents had. She was full of fun and eagar to please. She was not the smallest ETT but was as sound as a bell. I have only bred two litters and kept two puppies from each litter. I am now " hooked" on this charming, intelligent breed.

2005 saw Emi our first giant schnauzer joined our home along with Murphy a standard schnauzer puppy who are both enjoying life to the full here along with Jasmine,Velvet,Lexie.Ellie and Mazie our mini schnauzers .

2006 saw Judy a blue merle border collie join us here at westbridge its been a long time without a collie and shes fitted in great with all the other dogs!!!!
Also we have added Copper and Lilly our two new Manchester Terriers from the Eaglespur kennels having owned the ETTs fancyed haveing there bigger partners a breed very much like the English Toy Terrier and share almost the same style but are very much two different breeds.

2007 saw Rough collies back at Westbridge we are lucky enough to be able to have a lovery blue merle girl from the Steelhusrt kennel by there French import blue merle male Ch Top Gun Du Clos Duchesses At Steelhurst
Also we now have a Smooth collie Tigg Tricolour from the Cownbred kennels looking forword to takeing her out and about in 2008.
2009 Saw Tibetan Terriers join the kennel our black and White male Hecter ( Araki Badd Attitude with Westbridge) Sire CH Araki Ethelbert Dam Ch Araki Simple Divine and our Black and White girl Saffee ( Joslyns Zapphire ) Sire Araki Rocket Man Dam Tamalva Go With The Flow To Araki (eye and hip scored) we are looking forword to our first litter later in the summer
We have kept two Black and White girls Westbridge She can cha cha & Westbridge she can swing.
Dec 2009 saw our first litter of Smooth collies in over 30 years in the breed our last litter was back in the 80s 4 blue merles 3 f 1 m and a tri girl we are very proud of mum and dad too !!!!Lloverly litter of English toy terriers our first in over 2 years sadly only boys !!!!!!
We have some very nice litters planned for 2010 of Schnauzers both Miniature and Standard and Miniature longhaired Dachshunds watch this space !!!!!!
