German Shepherds have been in my life for about 33 years, my first Shepherd was a farm bred bitch who was with me for 16 years.
She wasn't of show quality but a good enough example of the breed for a family pet, there was no close or in breeding in her pedigree. I was blessed with a healthy dog who also had a balance of good food sensible exercise and care from professionals when required.

As the years progressed I've had a few Shepherds and always looked to buy dogs with good temperaments and from health tested parents.
In the last 20 years I've enjoyed learning obedience with my dogs and competing when I could, first and foremost they are family members who are socialised with other dogs and animals children and adults alike.

I bred my first litter of puppies 14 years ago from Kelly (Linern Salsa) the sire was Oscar (Linern Janus), from this litter I kept a bitch which was uncharacteristically called Spot (Dejaga Polka) . When the appropriate time came Kelly had a second and final litter but this time the sire was Freddie (Kingstown Darius of Linern) I think this litter was ahead its time being a mix of show line and working line, I kept another bitch this time called Zoe (Dejaga Dark secret). Sadly Kelly and Spot are no longer with me both living 15 and 13 years. respectively, to date at twelve Zoe is still with me.
Kelly and Zoe both competed in obedience.

I now own 2 substanial solid black working line bitches ( Mother & Daughter ), the Mother is Lexie who is the Daughter of ' Sergio Vom Salztalblick '. Lexie is in training for competitive obedience but as yet not in the ring partially because of her maternal duties at the end of 2010. Lexie is a wonderful laid back quiet dog in the home but I am very lucky that she has an on and off switch. When it comes to Lexie's working ethics she is very attentive and extremely fast. From Lexi's first litter I kept her Daughter called Riz (Dejaga Antonia), Riz is the Daughter of another working line dog ' Neck von den Wolfen ',

Lexie has been DNA tested clear of the gene that causes Pituitary Dwarfism as is Riz's Sire thus making Riz and her siblings one of the first Pituitary Dwarf clear litters in England.

Riz is just like her Mother, a brilliant house dog loving all those we permit into the house and also when training extremely fast both physically and mentally.

Both Lexie and Riz have been X-rayed under the BVA /KC scheme for hips and elbows. I will only use stud dogs that have also been Hip & Elbow scored under the BVA /KC scheme or the continental grade of 'A' stamp Normal, along with clear test results for Haemophilia and Pituitary Dwarfism.

As the Chairman of the GSD club of Suffolk I encourage all owners to be responsible with the upbringing and future training of their dogs.
