GARDENWAY

Willow (Barleycape Golden Willow at Gardenway) is out of Gardenway Child of the Mist at Barleycape - a grand-daughter of CH Gardenway Charlotte. I put Willow in whelp after my return from my judging appoinment in Sydney, Australia and she had 5 pups to Dramatist, 4 bitches and 1 dog. I have kept a bitch - Gardenway Crystal Creek - to show. The dog puppy - Gardenway Curlew Bay - went to Devon and is living a wonderful life on a stock farm. The other pups went as much loved pets/working dogs.

'Kassis' is owned by Errol Hibbert and Leslie Schenk in Rochdale. Born in 1999 she has had many wins in the show ring and is a Dramatist Grandaughter out of Sh.Ch.Gardenway Dawn Breeze. She shares her home with Gardenway Gunmaster who was later joined by his dam Glendun Phoebe of Gardenway who retired to live out her days with Errol and Leslie .
Phoebe and 'Gunner' have had their fair share of success in the show ring. Phoebe's wins in Veteran are well chronicled. Sadly we had to say goodbye to her this year. My thanks to Errol and Leslie for giving her such a lovely home.

Gardenway Hungarian Vizslas began in 1978 when I obtained my first two Vizslas from Miss Angela Boys (Galfrid). Thanks to her expert guidance I learnt a great deal in those early days and from only my second litter came my first home bred Champion - Gardenway Bula. I then purchased Russetmantle Grebe from the well known kennels of Mrs Gay Gottlieb and he went onto to become the youngest Vizsla to gain his crown at the age of 16months and one week. A feat beaten only once since then by his G.G.Grand-daughter. Grebe and Bula both qualified in the Field and thus were able to drop the 'Sh' part of their titles and become 'Full' Champions. Of the three litters bred from this magical pair, all contained future title holders. Two of which also gained their 'Full' titles. Ch. G. Charlotte - dam of G. Petite Fleur - Ch. G. Dawn Run - dam of Dramatist and Dawn Breeze and Sh. Ch. G. Rica of Pitswarren, dam of the former breed CC record holder Sh.Ch. Pitswarren Levi (bred by Mr & Mrs P. Harper).

Overseas, in Australia notably, Charlotte's brother Australian Ch. G. Chekov had an enviable record of Champion offspring. In addition, another dog from Gardenway parents - G. Kedvenc Andes - went to Australia to join Chekov and also gained his crown. He too has produced titled progeny. Both these dogs feature in the pedigree of the current Breed CC record holder, the lovely Australian import Sh. Ch./Aust Ch. Hungargunn Bear It'n Mind - as do G. Ophelia and Sh Ch G. Rica of Pitswarren. In Sweden, G. Sail Master and G. Seaspray have proved their worth and I am delighted to count all their owners amongst my friends.

I owe a great debt of gratitude to the Vizsla. Without this breed I would not have met some wonderful people, nor would I have had the thrilling experience of judging the breed in far off places.
