KC Assured Breeders

We made a decision early in our breeding career that we would become assured breeders as we were novice breeders and wanted to make sure we were rearing our puppies correctly, giving them every opportunity for a fit and healthy life and to give all our puppy buyers confidence they were taking home a puppy that had been well cared for and socialised, with ongoing backing from ourselves.

In 2013 we underwent our second Assured Breeder Assessment Visit but the first under the new UKAS Accreditation, which we passed, and were awarded the new Kennel Club Assured Breeders UKAS Accredited Certificate, being one of the first Coton De Tulear Breeders in the UK to do so.

We have since undergone a further KC Assured Breeder Assessment Visit 2016 and are pleased to say that we passed the assessment process with flying colours, and have once again been awarded the Kennel Club Assured Breeders UKAS Accredited Certificate..

Below is a little something about ourselves.

We are Colin and Corrine Hanson-New and live in Cannock, Staffordshire, which is not very far from Cannock Chase an AONB, a really lovely part of the Midlands.

Our interest in this lovely breed began in 2009 when we found ourselves in the position of being able to think about having a dog. Unfortunately, as.Colin suffers from asthma and is allergic to certain types of dogs we had to be very careful which breed we had. After extensive research on the internet for hypoallergenic breeds, we eventually settled on the Coton breed as it seemed to be exactly what we were looking for.

We contacted the Wyldewyche Kennel in Derbyshire about the possibility of having a puppy from them and explained our situation. At that time Helen had a German Shepherd Dog, and felt that for Colin to tell whether he would have any reaction to the coton breed it would be best if she bought one of her dogs to us. Helen and Bud bought George to our home and we spent 2 wonderful hours getting to know him and were very pleased to find that Colin had no reaction to the breed. At the end of the visit to our great pleasure Helen confirmed she would be willing for us to have one of her "babies" and by September 2009, Jarvis had come into our lives.

In 2010 we added another dog Clio to our family and we thought that it would stop there, but it seems these dogs are very addictive and we just couldn't resit adding to our family, with Brodie and Emma in 2012, Oscar and Yasmine in 2014 and finally Rona in 2015

We have such a happy home life with our Coton family who give us hours of fun, love and lots of cuddle and could not think of life without them now. They lift us up when we are down, make us laugh when we are sad and are a joy to have around. They love to go out for walks and always tells us so in their own way. Its so lovely to see how excited they get jumping, running backwards and forwards, spinning round and round and standing on their back legs until their leads are on. Cold frosty days are the best, when we all cuddle up together on the settee to watch the telly, just love the "Coton Love".
