We (Paul and Suzanne - Affix Pazanne) are based between Darlington and Sedgefield in County Durham on a smallholding of approximately 6 acres. I have owned and loved dogs all my life and as a farmer's daughter have never been without them. As a child we always had Collies, Jack Russells and Labradors. I had always been interested in breeding and when we moved here 15 years ago it was the ideal opportunity for me to fulfil my dream. I joined the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme in May 2006. All our breeding stock have had the relevant health tests required / recommended for their particular breed. We are now testing our labs for PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) which causes blindness, CNM (Central Neural Myopathy) which causes the muscles to waste away, EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse) which causes the dog to collapse after exercise and we now test for SD2 (Dwarfism) too. Our labs are working dogs and do require lots of stimulation, love and exercise. We have recently lost Demi who was such a fantastic pet for our children to grow up with. She was our first lab we got together and and we kept Roy from her third and final litter almost 11 years ago who has her boundless energy and fantastic temperament and who is my pride and joy, he just desperately wants to please, (both black), Tara our fox red girl and her daughter Sasha who is yellow. We also have Cassie who is yellow and is Roy and Sasha's Daughter. We have our first chocolate called Indi who is just adorable and such a character who we kept from Cassie's first litter. They are such a friendly lot and it is nice to be able to show Great Great Grandma and GreatGrandad and Great Grandma too now when people come to view our pups. We make every effort to ensure that our puppies go to responsible homes and do stress that being from working stock our labs need plenty of time, although they are keen to learn and desperate to please they do need stimulation. We run a small boarding kennels which we opened ten years ago as a result of so many people asking us to have our puppies back for their holidays. It is lovely that people are able to keep in touch and nice to see how the pups mature into adult dogs, they all settle back in straight away as though they feel they are coming back home!!
