The Downstream Flatcoats were established in 1960. Since then we have owned/bred 11 Champions (7 UK and 4 overseas) – all of whom hold a full title.

Ch Deep River Walk of Downstream was top Flatcoat in 2003 and has produced two Champion daughters - Ch Downstream Revisited to Tacumshin (top Flatcoat 2005) and Ch Downstream Revival JW.

Ch Downstream Destiny’s Child JW is the youngest Champion in the breed since 1945.

In 2007 Downstream were the top Flatcoated Retriever Breeders (Our Dogs league table) with 4 dogs owned or bred by us winning CCs.

At East of England 2008 Ch Downstream Destiny's Child won the BCC bringing the kennel total to 50 CCs from dogs owned or bred by us.

All dogs live with us as part of the family. We only ever breed when we want to add to our own stock and we do not advertise as we usually have a list of requirements by the time we mate a bitch.

All our dogs are worked throughout the Shooting Season.

Both my parents and I are Ch Show judges – and have judged the breed world wide. I am also passed to award CCs in Curly Coated Retrievers and Irish Water Spaniels.
