Sadly we lost Maddy to old age at nearly 15 years in 2005. As well as being a delightful companion, super showgirl and enthusiastic worker, she was also an outstanding brood bitch, producing several CC and Res. CC winners and JW winners. Her son Waverton Toby Ale of Varingo was top stud dog in the breed in 2003 and through him Maddy has 3 champion grandsons: Sh.Ch. Forgeway Park Royal, Ch. Belsud Brown Guinness, and Ch. Westbrook Cinnabar, and now a champion granddaughter, our own Ria (Ch. Varingo Victoria with Waverton, JW) and a champiion grandson (Sh Ch Telmoss Tressel). |

Fizz was born in1998, and has spent her life living up to her name. With strong working bloodlines, her forte has been the shooting field. But she has also done well in the show ring, winning her KC Stud Book number several times over. She is also the dam of Waverton Coco Loco (below). |

Ria came to us from the Gwilliams when we lost Waverton Renaissance in Dec. 2000. She has done very well in the show ring, becoming a Champion in 2006. She also works during the shooting season and has her Show Gundog Working Certificate. She has a low hip score and is glaucoma - free. Ria had a litter to Belsud Brown Burgundy (liver) in 2005 in which was a puppy who has done extremely well at working. She has recently had another litter to Angus in 2008. |

Coco is now 6years old, by Waverton Toby Ale of Varingo ex W. Bucks Fizz. She is a very extrovert character and is also enjoying living up to her name! Her show career got off to a good start, and she is a full member of the picking-up team, showing all her mother's flair for work. Coco has a low hip score (4:3), and is glaucoma - free. In 2007 she produced a litter by Strollers Gift to Forgeway from which we kept Waverton Floradora who has had a wonderful puppy career, winning Best Puppy and Reserve Best Puppy in Show awards at open shows. Sadly Flora had a pyometra at 13 months following her first season, and has had to be spayed.

The Waverton kennel of flatcoats was founded in 1976. Our first dog was Belsud Black Kestrel of Waverton JW, Res. CCs. In 1978 we bought Lucy (Ch. Black Velvet of Candidacasa at Waverton) from Christabel Holmes. We could not have had a better foundation bitch for a dual-purpose line - her record speaks for itself. We bred primarily for looks, temperament, and working ability - not necessarily in that order. We check for defects associated with the breed. We have been lucky enough to own 5 champions in the breed. We both judge flatcoats and goldens at championship level at home and abroad, including judging flatcoats at Crufts (2005 and 2007). In goldens we have had a bitch (Westenholm Forever Dreaming at Waverton)with 2 CCs, one of which was won at Crufts. her two half-sisters also did well. W. Blue Nun won a CC and 2 Res. CCs, and W. Biarritz won 2 Res. CCs. However, in recent years the goldens have taken a back seat in the show ring. We currently (July 08) have a litter from our golden girl, Gillbryan Chimalis at Waverton who was mated to Ch Catcombe Corblimey. |
