Welcome to Palmik~ we are a small kennel of show bred whippets based in the county of Devon, UK. All the dogs live in the home as part of the family and are very much loved. We breed for quality not quantity!
Our next planned litter will be from Barnesmore Red Rose at Palmik (JW), Rosa . The litter is due at the end of September 2010. Please go to Rosas page for more details

WE ARE MEMBERS OF THE KENNEL CLUB ACCREDITED BREEDERS SCHEME ~ OUR ACCREDITED BREEDER NUMBER IS 3617137.
We only have a litter when we are wanting a puppy to show. We take our time looking for a suitable dog to match our own stock and will comply with the breed standard.
We are always pleased to give honest advice and help to anyone who has the best welfare of whippets at heart.

HISTORY~MIKE
I had my first whippet in 1968 & started showing with the affix Benhillwood. A few years later I changed this to Palmik.
I have bred and shown 4 UK champions~ Ch Palmik Starsign, Ch Palmik Starry, Ch Palmik High Roller and Ch Palmik Magical Whispers JW. I have also bred many CC, RCC & stud book qualifiers. Some of which live with friends & fellow exhibitors.
I have bred and exported;-- 2 Scandinavian champions~ Fin Ch Palmik Star Dancer and Swed Ch Palmik Star Shadow.
I have judged in the UK at championship show level awarding CC’s 14 times and have had the honour of judging bitches at Crufts in 1996. I have another UK Championship Show judging appointment in 2011.
I have also had the pleasure of judging two championship shows in Sweden and The Whippet Club of New South Wales Specialty Championship Show in Sydney, Australia on Good Friday 2nd April 2010.
I have served on breed club committees in various capacities for over 25 years & served on the Whippet Breed Council for over 10 years.

HISTORY~YVONNE
I have been blessed to have been born into a family of animal lovers and have owned horses from a very early age. During our travels around the Horse Shows my sister and I use to enter the family GSD's into the fun dogs show.
In 1985 I decided to let the horses go and find myself a less expensive hobby. I turned my attention to Obedience and Agility with the GSD's which I enjoyed immensely.
In 1995 I was given my first whippet. A blue bitch~call name Sadie, which I showed with some success. She was the perfect introduction to the 'wonderful world of whippets'.
I have spent numerous years on various committees from Horse Shows to Obedience, All Breed and a single breed club where I held the position of treasurer.
I judge at Open Show level.
