I have owned and shown whippets for over 30 years and am currently campaigning dogs who carry the very best of the famous "Oakbark" bloodlines.

I don't get to as many shows as I would like, as my horses take up a huge amount of time but I do try to get to a few championship shows each year and am thrilled with the successes my dogs have achieved.

I was a founder member and the first secretary of the South West Whippet Club and am proud of the way the Club has gone from strength to strength.

To date, Hubble (Chibuku Political Agenda at Sharmus) has been extremely successful in the show ring, having won many championship first prizes, as well as winning Hound Groups at open show level. He has also won two Reserve Challenge Certificate one at the Three Counties show in 2009 under breed specialist Lucinda Aldrich-Blake, the latest at Manchester Championship Show in January 2012 under another breed specialist, Mrs. Alayna Allen.

In September 2010 Hubble won BEST IN SHOW at the South West Whippet Club open show under breed specialist judge, Mrs. M Hall who said in her critique "superb classic fawn.... everything just about perfect, gorgeous head & expressions, super shoulder placement, leading to flowing outline, outmoved the other exhibits in this class"


A puppy from Hubble's first litter (Railfield Rainflower, JW) is being extremely successful in the ring, winning many first prizes at Championship Show level including BEST PUPPY BITCH at CRUFTS 2009.
Railfield Rainflower has now won two Challenge Certificate both with BEST IN SHOW at Breed Club Championship Shows, as well as several Reserve CC's.

Puppies from his next litter made their debut in the show ring, and I was thrilled when one of them qualified for Crufts 2012 at his very first show

*STOP PRESS*, the latest litter sired by Hubs has just been born to Stormburst Winter Sparkles at Citycroft, JW, SChM - 5 lovely girls and 4 handsome boys.

Woody (Drakesoak Seatle Slew at Sharmus) has also done extremely well in the show ring, winning the Reserve Challenge Certificate at Bath in 2008 under breed specialist judge, the late Mrs Caroline Brown. He has also been Best in Show at Totnes & District show, Best Dog at The South West Whippet Club show and was 2nd in his class at Crufts. He has also shown promise as a lure coursing dog on the few occasions he has competed.

Now competing in veteran classes, Woody is doing extremely well at Championship show level and has cottoned on to the fact that at breed club shows, the veterans get a sausage which goes down a treat!

Scribble has had an exciting start to his show career, having won and been placed on several occasions in his puppy classes. He finished his puppy career in style winning Puppy Dog at Bath Championship Show. He is multi qualified for Crufts 2012

Bred by Jo Keenan and Rachel Smith, Scribble has a very happy-go-lucky outlook to life and is a pleasure to live with.
