I am a small kennel based in Ireland, I live in the countryside with my family of 5 boxers. The eldest being Xsara who's nine and the youngest being Cooper who's 13 months. I generally only breed when I would like something new for the showring and find by keeping my numbers down I can give my dogs more individual attention. I bought my first boxer (Duke) 10 years ago having ever only seen one boxer before that and that belonged to the local vet. I was so enamoured with the exuberance and elegance of his red boxer that no other breed would do. So 6 months later after reseaching the breed and enquiring about reputable breeders, i arrived home with a red and white bundle of energy who was aptly named Murphy's Mischief Maker MY FIRST BOXER! During Duke and my many visits to town and the park people would stop me and comment on how beautiful he was and did i show him. These included an elderly gentleman how used to show boxers, my reply was "whats a dog show". So we started ringcraft classes and eventually made it to our first show, where Duke won Best Puppy in Breed WELL THAT WAS ME HOOKED. About a year later I decided to buy a bitch to show and hopefully/possible breed a litter from. So Xsara arrived and her and Duke became inseparable. Sadly my beautiful boy passed away earlier this year, but will always be in my thoughts. All i have to do is look at my Affix and there he is with Xsara. Now that i have explained how Duxsara Boxers came to be, i would like to introduce you to Duxsara Mini Adventure (Cooper the looper) in his short show career to date he has consistently won under all round judges and breed specialists. The most recent being Green Star Dog and Reserve Best in Show under an Italian breed specialist. But our most thrilling adventure was a day trip to Manchester, where Cooper was awarded Best Puppy in Show and Reserve Challenge Certificate at the tender age of 11 months. It says alot about his construction, movement and temperament for such a young dog to have a stud book number and be qualified for Crufts for life!
Although i enjoy the show scene and it's great to catch up with friends who have a common interest (the love of their breed) my dogs are still first and foremost my family and the love of my life.
All my dogs have been heart tested as advised by Breed Council.
I hope you enjoy a look into our lives |
