We bought our first Golden in 1990 from Mrs Joan Tudor. This puppy was Camrose Penelope who we called 'Kelly'. We wanted a Camrose puppy because we knew the reputation of Mrs Tudor (my mother had her first Golden Retriever puppy through her way back in 1966 and then took this dog to Mrs Tudor to be mated with her famous stud dog, Camrose Cabus Christopher) and knew the temperament of any dog with a Camrose bloodline would be superb for a family, which we were planning to have.

We would have loved to breed from Kelly, but were busy having children of our own and lived in a small house. When we moved to a larger house, we fostered 2 Goldens for my sister, whilst they were stationed in Germany. One of these Goldens was Kelly's litter sister, Camrose Patience (known as Sophie). When my sister reclaimed her back and we were back to having one dog, Kelly seemed to miss having her playmate, so we bought Bella. Bella is one of the happiest dogs I know and is a really smiley dog who 'talks' in her own growley way. We didn't breed from Bella because Kelly was very elderly the time Bella was the right age for breeding and it didn't seem 'right'.

We said goodbye to Kelly in 2005 at the grand old age of 15 and a half. She had had a wonderful life and had enriched our life as well. We wanted to have another Camrose dog so contacted Mrs Tudor, who didn't have any Camrose puppies expected that year, but referred us to a lady whose dog had a litter by her Sh Ch Recital Simgold of Camrose. Our Skye is the result! She has the lovely gentle disposition so typical of the breed and especially of the 'Camrose' bloodline, which we were wanting. She has certainly lived up to our expectations.
