I first got involved with dogs some 50+ years ago when I took over the careing of an old Poodle that had belonged to an old friend of my granny.
When I got married we had our first of two German Sheherds, a most adorable girl who's main ambition in life was to please. She was always at her happiest when with the children and it was a very sad time when we lost her. Sometime late we got another German Shepherd, and again a good family member.
We then had a Great Dane, Zaq, a tall black elegant chap.
Then 20 years ago we got our first Newfoundland and it became a love affair with the breed. We currently have two girls, a brown one, who at 8, thinks she is the queen and likes nothing better than reclinging on the settee. Over the years she has been such a trusted friend and brings us much love and fun and we hope that this carries on for many more years.
Then there is the mother of the litter, Darcey, again a true friend who likes nothing more than sitting on my knee, well trying, and wants to be stroked all day long. She loves long walks on the moors and will swim all day if allowed.
Darcey has been health screened and has a hip score of 6, heart tested clear and eye tested clear.
