Bought my first Ridgeback in 1981 while living in South Africa: SHANDY was a wonderful companion & ambassador. Born in 1991, WHISKY was my African Gentleman & an excellent foundation dog. While Whisky was in quarantine in 1993, I sought a companion for him, but was blessed to find a perfect mate in RYE from the JANAK kennel. From our first litter in 1994, BEAUJOLAIS was a great show dog, sire of champions and my soulmate. We have enjoyed much success in the showring; essentially, our dogs are happy pack members who have taught us all the importance of leadership & understanding. Thomas started showing Rye @ CRUFTS when he was only 4, but he needed a smaller dog of his own; CHASER joined us in 2004 and together they have been a successful team. We will always have these 2 super breeds, but perhaps the Whippets are more collectable...
