I have always been interested in animals as I was brought up in a farming family. We always had a Dachshund or two and a border collie for a few years that was abandoned outside our house. Up until my twenties I was riding competitively my ponies and horses.
My family have owned Irish Setters since 1976. Red Shimmer of Helston Water 'Heidi' firstly came as a pet, followed by Smallcroft Gretl 'Katy' in 1989 who became the first show dog for us. She was registered in my parents names but trained for the show ring and always shown by myself. We were thrilled when she won a CC in 1995. In 1994 I bought an Irish Setter bitch of my own, Lynwood Castaspell Over Polmennor 'Magic' She became my foundation bitch and produced two litters from which I kept Polmennor Sweet Dreams 'Kayla' born in 1997 only lightly shown as a youngster and Polmennor Village Gossip Sh CM 'Charis' born in 2000, another successful show girl winning a RCC as a two year old. Charis produced one litter from which I kept Polmennor For Pleasure 'Pasha' born in 2005 a championship show first prize winner. I also own Pasha's half sister Lynwood Theme Song for Polmennor who came to live with us in 2006 at 15 months old, she is also a championship show first prize winner and is such a sweetie. In 2008 Pasha produced my lovely youngster Polmennor Willow Pattern another championship show first prize winner. Still living with me now are Kayla, Pasha, Diva and WIllow, the three younger ones have had numerous Crufts qualifying placings for 2010 at championship shows throughout the year.
All of my dogs live in the house as family pets in perfect harmony with each other.

'Magic' was my foundation bitch. She was the pick of bitches from a litter bred by Jane Mugford in 1994. From the last litter by the well known Sh Ch Clonageera Genesis x Lynwood Mega-Star. She was successful in the show ring winning 2 RCCs and in latter years 18 Best Veteran in Show awards of which I was very proud. Magic lived to 12 1/2 years old. Her show career spanned over 11 years and she loved every minute of it and I enjoyed every minute of sharing my life with her.

'Charis' was my Angel. Magic's daughter and the no trouble, lovable, biddable girl of the house, she was a successful show dog and won multiple first prizes at championship shows and won a RCC as a two year old. The stud book number that she achieved then qualified her to go to Crufts every year for the rest of her life. It was a shock to lose her in July 2009 at 9 years old.

'Pasha' Charis's daughter has won well all year at all levels. Since becoming a mother she has become a very well behaved girl but does love to spend as much time in the garden or field as possible.

My aim is to produce Irish Setters that are healthy, of sound temperament and are also good enough to win well at all levels in the show ring. I am a Kennel Club Accredited breeder and I only breed from stock that have satisfactory hip scores, are eye tested clear of GPRA and either DNA tested or hereditarily clear of CLAD and PRA rcd-1. I only breed a litter when I want a puppy for myself and have only bred 4 litters since I bought Magic in 1994. All of my dogs live in the house as family pets in perfect harmony with each other.

I am on the Irish Setter joint judging B list and have been judging Irish Setters all over the country since 1997. I was proud to be asked to judge in Sweden in June 2009, an appointment I thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you to all those people who have chosen to own my puppies since I started breeding in 1997. I hope they have or will enrich your lives for many years to come.
