We are a small family breeder and only mate our bitches whenever we have a reasonable amount of firm enquiries for puppies that we can add to our waiting list.

FURTHER NEWS in 2010 - 2011

This has been an amazing year and we are really pleased at the way our puppies have come on under the guidance of their respective owners.

We were so excited to hear the news of Nell, litter sister of Chalkie (Argemone Mont Sorrel) whom we bred.

'Nell' (CH Argemone Flanders Fields of Barrenger JW; ShCM) under the superb stewardship of her owner Sandra Thexton has gone from strength to strength in the show ring culminating in her fantastic achievement of the status of Champion (as well as her Junior Warrant and Show Certificate of Merit).

You can see Nell's successes ihe 'RESULTS' section but here are some of Nell’s highlights:

May 2010: Birmingham National Dog Show. Awarded the FIRST Place in the Limit – Bitch Class (7 entrants) and then went on to win the BCC.

July 2010: East of England Agricultural Society. Awarded FIRST Place in the Limit – Bitch Class and then went on to win the BCC.

September 2010: Belfast Dog Show Society. Was awarded FIRST Place in the Open – Bitch Class (4 entrants) and then went on to win the BCC. This was Nell’s third BCC, which resulted in her being ‘made up’ to a ‘Champion’!

Terminology
BCC - Bitch Challenge Certificate. This is a certificate, which the judge signs stating that in his or her opinion the dog is worthy of becoming a Show Champion.
VHC – Very Highly Commended.
JW - A Junior Warrant is awarded to a dog that has obtained 25 points between the ages of 6 and 18 months. A minimum of three points must be won at Championship Shows where Challenge Certificates for the breed are on offer and a minimum of 3 points won at Open Shows or Championship Shows where Challenge Certificates are not offered for the breed.

ABOUT US

As a direct result of Nell's success in becoming a Kennel Club CHAMPION, we, as her Breeder, were awarded the BREEDER DIPLOMA by the Kennel Club in September 2010. This is a tremendous accolode for us, but all credit must go to Nell and Sandra Thexton, her owner.

All our bitches are family dogs and are our pets.They are all registered with the Kennel Club and we are also Members of the Basset Hound Club of Great Britain and the South West Basset Hound Club.

Our puppies are whelped and reared in full compliance with the Basset Hound Club (UK) and the Kennel Club codes of ethics and guidelines for puppy breeding.

All puppies will be registered with the Kennel Club and fully wormed and inoculated (1st).

We provide a free Puppy Pack (Puppy food, 5 generation Pedigree, our Basset Puppy Rearing Handbook and an Inoculation and Worming Record) together with 4 weeks free Puppy insurance and free microchip insertion.

All puppies are endorsed - "progeny not eligible for registration (not for breeding without permission) and not eligible for export".
