Chartan was founded by Inkersall Kirstie (Breeze) way back in 1975 and we have always strived to produce dual purpose puppies, on the way competing in obedience, agility,working trials and field trials as well as breed shows. I am proud to have bred and worked the 1st Gordon Setter bitch to have qualified CDex.
I hope to continue to produce sound Gordons, who look good and can do the job and be a loving companion too.
We now have a field trial award too! Chartan Purple Patch (Hazel) was awarded a Certificate of Merit at the Scottish Field Trial Society's Novice stake 10th August 2008.
Hazel, (Chartan Purple Patch) has now added to her field trial award by winning the CC (Challenge Certificate) at the Gundog Society of Wales Championship Show in October 2009.
From her litter by Show Champion Kilnrae French Mustard . we have Chartan Moonshine Merlot (Ted) who has had a fantastic start to his show career and has the most calm friendly temperament. His sister C. Oyster Bay (Tiggi) is much more outgoing and naughty but possesses the potential to do well in the show ring and as a working dog - if we can find the brakes!
Their sister in Hungary , C.Renato Ratti (Ratti) is proving to be an excellent working dog, who has her hunting certificate ( not yet 2 yrs old) and will retrieve shot game to hand as well. Hazel, (Chartan Purple Patch) has now been awarded a 2nd prize in a Novice Field Trial!
